They'll replace Dodge by a defense state that is less RNG... YAY.

Ofc both add variety to the game and the new one shouldnt rly be inferior to Dodge, but replacing it with a new one instead of keeping both is just dumb.
If they want a less rnd state just add it.

The only argument that Riot and everyone else from the "pro-remove" faction are bringing up is:
"Meh, we dont like it, so it'll be removed."

Well, the anti-removal crowd doesn't seem to comprehend the idea that you spend X gold on a stat that is based around random number generation...

Ever go up against a Jax and they literally seemed to have 100% Dodge because every attempt of you swinging at them they dodged it, then stunned you, then killed you?

Or ever played as Jax and only get 1 or 2 dodge procs in a team fight, and ended up dying?

Ninja tabi gives you some armor and some dodge....But the nature of a RNG thing like dodge makes it unpredictable (obviously). So does the item ALWAYS pay for itself? Nope, not really. Merc treads always pay for themselves, sorc boots too, EVEN the CDR boots...Which I don't like, pay for themselves, so does swiftness and mobility. Why? because they are 100% ALWAYS working for you, whereas dodge is completely random.

Riot is attempting to cut down on the factors of LoL which are "unattractive" or noncondusive to "an exciting and fun expereince". Some people clearly felt dodge was dying out, why get armor and dodge when you can get Tenacity?

"But Jeff you can get Tenacity from some items too", sure, but have they made ANY of those items remotely viable for more than ~2 or 3 champs? I havent heard anyone going crazy over Moonfire Spellblad as100% core on anyone.

So, they remove Dodge and replace it with a different stat, simple as that. It's not removing any flavor or variety, it's doing away with an outdated and very fickle mechanic.

There's still merc's lol

I'm not saying it's optimal, but it is a good item. Far better on most AP carries than spellblade...

If you don't use mana, you probably aren't getting philo stone in the first place. :P

Anyway, I think they're removing dodge because it doesn't feel good to the team.

You crit and it helps the entire team with TONS OF DAMAGE. You dodge and it helps... you stay alive.. <_<

Miracle isn't terrible, but I'd rather just get mercs if CC was that prevelelant in a game. ^_^ It's great for sustain and solid on tanks IMO. But for an AP carry not so much. IMO.

Lugignaf cutted the point there, whats Dodge for defensive is Crit for offensive.

But since Dodge isnt "super pownage" and hasnt its own animation its not popular enough with most summoners, naming the masses of those little *************************** kids.

Than they start shouting in /all...

Like the Reds mentioned, ppl dont even notice that the enemy killed them because he dodged several times, only if they dodge the killing blow it wont go unnoticed.

Ofc Dodge is rnd, but it has its CERTAIN! value in the long go.
Regarding RNG, why using Skillshots?
Theyre better than autoaimed skills overall but carrying the risk of not hitting, same gamble different wrapper.

Dont like gambles? Stop playing! Every game contains it.

Dodge has its actual use, but since Riot probably wanted to replace it for a long time now, they didnt encourage it.
Tenaciy items? Rly? You should know better than that. If they actually had implemented Tenacity on rather good/decent items every caster nowadays would have 35% CC reduce...
Since most of them needs Sorc boots they decide just to skip it anyway.
The clue is to add items with Tenacity/Dodge, which make you ponder if you need them or not. But thats a paradox in Riot terms...

Actually just reading the first post of one of the Reds regarding the matter made me wanna puke.

Compare things within the same realm of RNG. Players have control over skill shots, I do not have direct control over my ability to dodge an attack or not. It's not that "randomness" is bad, but with a mechanic (I admit dodge was cool) like dodge, the fact of the matter lies with the nature of the stat.

Spend money on the chance to avoid damage? Or spend money on the 100% always going to work, pair of boots? Depedning on the situation Tabi could beat mercs, but those situations were few and far between when the number of AA using champs on the opposing team is 2 compared to all 5 champs with a form of hard or soft CC....
