Yeahhhh that's the function of taking dodge. Lol.
If it weren't a reliable and functional source of survivability I wouldn't use it :P
No, that's the thing, it ISN'T reliable, the reason i couldn't dive him is because if he LITERALLY GOT LUCKY, because of his 10% dodge chance, i would lose the kill, and die.
I was able to get away from 3 person ganks because of my kit, but i wasn't able to kill wukong even though i was outplaying him in lane because of a 10% chance that he takes no damage.
It's not "reliable and functional" it's a mechanic that only reinforces defensive, boring play.
Tri lane for life.
He took 10% dodge chance so that 10% of your attacks on him would miss.
That's not luck. That's premeditated. He knows that's going to happen.
Crit is luck based. I also like crit and think it's an integral part of carrying with AD champions.
Just like dodge is part of a planned out defense against auto attackers.
Dodge is what allows me to go aggressive and rambo on my tanks. If I didn't have it, I'd be forced to sit back and play defensively because otherwise I'd take too much damage.
Fallacious argument is fallacious, your logic is not sound.
You just don't like the mechanic, even though it is FUNCTIONAL and it is RELIABLE. 10% is a huge number. It's not like it's never going to happen. Statistically, 1/10th of attacks will be dodged. Purchase of Tabi and suddenly 20%. That's a fifth of attacks.
His choice of defense saved him in this instance, and you didn't like it. You might as well simply say it's anti fun, but to say it's unreliable and then get mad when it worked and saved the guy... Silly.

10% dodge means you have a 10% chance to dodge any given attack, not that you will automatically dodge 10% of all attacks made on you.
This seems like it should be the same thing, but it's not. It is random: you will always have a 10% chance to dodge any given attack, but that doesn't necessarily mean you will always dodge one out of every 10 attacks.
I can have 36% Dodge on Sivir and never dodge a single attack...or I could have 2% on Shen (old masteries) and dodge 3 attacks in a row.
A higher percent makes it more likely that you will dodge, but it's not a guarantee.

No, he bought CDR boots, and built 0 Armor, but i still couldn't kill him because he would dodge the only attacks that were critical in lane.
HE would make a bad play, and i couldn't punish it because of a RANDOM mechanic.
He was being rewarded for his gamble, i understand that.
I just think that if i outplay him, i should beat him, not the other way around.
Also, you can't argue crit vs dodge, because there are mechanics in place to normalize crit chance, so that it operates more like gamblers fallacy. (If you crit, your crit chance on the next attack is lowered, if you don't crit, it's raised.)
Tri lane for life.
Those mechanics glitch and lead to random triple crits from time to time, fyi. So the mechanics that regulate crit don't always work out either.
And yes, if you outplay him you're going to be accounting for a dodge or two over the course of a 10 seconds fight, it's inevitable.
When a guy gets like 10 dodges in 15 seconds then you can be like, "Wtf is this luck?"
But 2-3 consecutive dodges, to me is sorta, meh.
****ty rolls on your RnG but it happens all the time.

Technically speaking: You'd reduce AA dmg by 10% if your Dodge chance is also 10%, thats a given in the long run of a SR game. You wont wind up exactly on 10% but somewhere between 9%/11% even more if you evade critical hits.
Ofc dodge is more rnd than other stats, but theres a certain defensive value behind it, if you try to argue with "its too rnd" youre those guys whose hits usually will be dodged and you are just mad about it.
Dodge is the same as Crit... nuff said there.
If you try to remove dodge go after Crit, too. Otherwise:
Move your hypocritical caster-sissy ***es right back into the marketing whimper-corner.
