You've let your guide go stale, and haven't even made Season 3 changes to it, does NOT deserve to be in the top five ahead of better guides who's authors took the time to make necessary changes. Also, your items leave something to be desired.

Decent build, though I disagree with some of the items (3 dorans blades seems a tad excessive). But the main reason I'm downvoting this is because of the presentation: walls of text with few breaks. It's just not very appealing to the eye

Great guide, pretty similar to my. Some things I have read:

Ninja Tabi: You can use them to counter someone like Riven top lane pretty hardcore

CDR Boots: Most of the time, you will not be the initator, cuz Garen has no real way to initiate. Either have somebody else which is tanky an can initate fights, or don't play Garen. And if you then head into those fights, a Courage on a shorter cooldown basically gives you more cc-reduction than Mercury's Treads. So the only reason to get Mercury's Treads is in my opinion to counter mages early, but for that you can also get Hexdrinker.

On my games I found out that you only need 2 tank items: Guardian Angel and Maw of Malmortius. Maybe try that aswell? Aswell I think, Doran's Blades are generally a waste and only make your midgame weaker. If you just skip them, you have still a good early with the combo of Avarice Blade, The Brutalizer and Ionian Boots of Lucidity and have a way better midgame.

BTW: If you read through your whole guide, you will find that it sometimes talks about pre-rework Garen. You should correct that.

This is by far the best Garen guide on Mobafire. I was going to write my own guide, actually, until I saw this. I just have one suggestion: super late game I usually sell Youmuu's Ghostblade for Last Whisper. The arpen really makes a huge difference.
