Mass Warding: The New Support metagame?

It seems like everyone is saying Wards are good, skill is better? A 10 wards can give you full vision but well placed wards + map awareness can give you the same thing.

I think you should always be warding especially as a support, and seems most agree with that, but most games tend to flow in a certain pattern of where fights happen and where wards need to be as the game progresses. Are we constantly fighting/ganking bottom, then we need wards in their bot jungle and 1 to watch for backdoor or incoming the other way etc.

TLDR: Map awareness, allows for you to know where wards are needed which then leads to map awareness of the enemy so that you can initiate and focus fire on them quicker then they can on you.

Map awareness has limits. For example, when you're losing a game and they pushed to your inhibs. You NEED wards to be able to do anything outside of it. Map awareness won't help if they've been missing for eternity.

Wards do help, it all depends on HOW you make them help.

I've seen situations where my own teammate doesn't even notice someone in that little bush ganking his lane, even when there is a ward there.

Its about promoting map awareness. If 2 people are missing from the map, the chances of them ganking you is higher than if only 1 person is missing.

Overpushing can be a downfall - I've overpushed so many times and even with an extra ward in the bush, we just couldn't escape.

Map awareness > Wards

With map awareness, who needs wards? Its just to ensure slightly more safety and in the end, nobody have enough map awareness to totally disregard wards.

If you rely on GP/10 for your wards why only buy the gp10 items.

I run the 3GP 10 items and have GP10 runes.

I gain 22.3GP/10 on my supports. [7.3 from runes/masteries]

that's

133 gold a minute. n I ward like a boss. (always offensive wards) If you remove FOG as much as u can from your team you win. I personally run sona as much as i can (because she's top support imo.)

I would suggest to you that you invest in GP10 quints. they are cheep.
In my oppinion a very undervalued rune.

Agreed.

I also don't know why people think that the support is the only one supposed to do the warding. I play soloq a lot, nobody wards and I end up wandering around with a stack of 5 most of the game. I'm solotop. The one who gets the most gold without getting kills.
