So I recently took up Kassadin and Kayle in 3s. After feeling pretty indifferent about Kayle having both great games and terrible ones I decided to check the next archetype off of my to get list for any sort of future of having a viable roster readily available to fit any mold.

Anyhow to skip back to my point, it appears Kassadin has been nerfed recently and I personally feel as though his 3's build regaurdless wouldn't reflect his 5s build. Why? I think that in 3s you need to be somewhat tanky meaning you cannot go full AP and expect to do well in twisted treeline (to my experience) and also the games are generally much shorter making expensive core builds and RoA less viable (again based on my personal experience and opinion.)

So then what i'm currently experimenting with is a 9/21 build. We all know Kass is a snowball champion because he has a weak early game and needs expensive items therefor he must get kills or out wit his opponents early on.

I'm not sure whether or not I should get flat AP runes to benefit his early game mostly in harassment and if i'm lucky kills. Or should I take gold per 10 seconds runes and take catalyst trying to prolong the laning phase?

(For anyone wondering why I would take 9/21: my justification is early HP, reduced disables, CDR per level, +gold per kill / assist, with very low loss of dmg early game which is where Kass struggles the most) Not to mention hp/5 for laning phase which admittedly is the least useful of the above.

If anyone is willing to theory craft a 3s core build for Kass I would be thankful. I don't agree with a majority of the guides out there but that is mostly due to the fact that i'm the odd ball that only plays 3s in a community that lives for 5s.

Kass is very good on TT. The way he is built in SR, is just as effective in 3s.

He has an edge with his ult and with it being 3v3, he has the power to shut down one person, making it 3v2. And since most comps are AP,AD, and tank, that can make difference. He is a great Anti-Mage, so that makes a difference if they have a mage.

If I could play him better, I would have him. I do a lot of 3s and most of my guides are built for 3s play.

Anyone that has high mobility, can do well in 3s. You just have to make sure you know what you doing. Know the map and know what you can and cant do, and you can have a lot of fun

My problem with his 5s build in 3s isn't that its bad on paper, but rather that in a shorter game and having terrible early game laning presence its very difficult to build such expensive items. Whilst experimenting with a cheaper build I find that I become strong mid game and useless late game. I feel that it will certainly be difficult finding the right balance for TT Kass.

I belive starting with a dorans ring or 2 and follow up with a haunting guise would work for a slightly more tanky early game and still have great damage.
Follow up with some spellvamp or zhonya's hourglass ?

PS. Im not a experienced Kassadin player.

Im not an experienced Kass player either, but Ive seen a lot of him on TT. Now the best way that Ive seen him played is as an assassin.

Put him in the bot lane with someone who can poke just as well as he can, and when you get the chance... BAM!!! Kill for you. He has some great burst dmg and if you get someone with great CC or just as much burst, those expensive items come quick.

Also, try 21/0/9. I understand why you would want to go full utility, but with his ability to burst, you should play a lil more offensive. I think utility is best suited for those champs that have issue with farming, that get more assists than kills, and things like that.

But thats just me

Double RoA is pointless on any champ. Most games dont last long enough to get a second one, and unless both teams are pro, you barely get all the stacks on the first one. One is good.

Kass is in my opinion a top tier TT pick.

Build herp derp damage and abuse the short terrain and wall hopping.

Just stack Doran's Rings. That's all you need. :P

I can give you some amazing Kayle tips.

If you want almost guaranteed win on TT every time, play an entire team of Tanky DPS champions, such as Tryndamere, that snowball extremely easily and preferably have some kind of gap closer. Get first blood and win, unless you play dumb.
