She's far more viable than a lot of other trolly, supposedly "viable" **** (Kayle jungle, anyone?) I've seen, and people randomly pick things like that up all the time. I tried it on a whim, personally. She's not that easy a champion to learn in the first place and her jungle takes some practice.
Irelia deals damage without items.
Hiten Style deals true damage, Bladesurge deals some damage, even early game, and Equilibrium Strike is just CC until late game anyways.
This Irelia was obviously terrible, she should have hit level 4 before 7 minutes in and she didn't gank, she obviously doesn't know how to jungle.
In the end, deciding something's terrible because you played with a single person who did it incredibly badly is a little unfair.

Ireliea is an alright solo top right now, there are better junglers. Viability implies that a champion can hang with other champions filling the same role. Lee Sin vs Irelia, she loses, vs Shyvana loses, vs WW loses,vs Maokai she loses, vs Nocturne MAYBE ties, etc.
I'm all for people proving me otherwise. I just know that there are stronger junglers.
As well, with the right runes, you deal true damage to minions level 1.
I just don't feel she is viable, she can jungle (so can everyone else) but why pick her over 90% of other stronger junglers?

I guess you could blame the player, but I assume someone picking Irelia to jungle means you've done it before. If you've done it enough to consider doing it in an actual game, then where is the consistency? The skill? The ability?
I don't think it's viable at all. No offense to anyone who believes otherwise, but I'd take any other jungler over her. A 1 second slow and a long *** cool down "flash" with minimal damage "without items" does not a good jungler make.
