Please update this! I just got to know Irelia and bought her already. I'm following your guide, but it desperately needs updating. It's awesome otherwise.

First of all I would like to thank for this awesome guide :P I have tried dozens of Irelia guides and none have worked :/ I was desperate and I started to think that I suck at her and i wasted my time and money for buying that b*tch. But Then I found your guide, tho it says its expired I still gave it a shot and well let the picture speak for itself :)

Although at the end of the game i would prefer Aegis of Legion instead Thornmail and Bloodthirster instead of Wriggle's Lantern. So thank you for bringing back my confidence in myself :D and keep up the good work.

A refreshing way of playing Irelia. I normally go the standard gp5 triforce, but not utilizing hiten play early on. Somewhat the build I use when trying hiten focused games, but this gave me better ideas. :)

hey i just tried your build in two games
in the first i went 6/3/6 and our team got pretty fed so it was fairly easy to see how the build works
in the second the one that really made the build shine was the game i ended up 4/9/9
now im not the best lol played and these were my first two games with irelia so i was kind of surprised at how well i did, you may be thinking 4/9/9 thats terrible and i know and whats worse is the full team score was 22/56 56 kills to the other team BUT because of the amazingly small cost of the items in the build despite the other team being fed we won the game without one of our towers going down, i was able to sneek around while they were distracted and because of the sheer tankyness of this build i was able to take down towers some from half health with no minions thanks soo much this is my main champion and main build now :D

Ah, and about what you're saying on Cleanse : LoLWikiconfirms that you can get around 86% CC reduction with it combined to Ionian Fervor and Mercury's. So yeah, it's kind of 100% proven ^^

Great guide ! I felt that Trinity Irelia was way too weak early game and i was constantly farming under my tower, for my top lanes ennemies were way too strong, even for a philo sustain. Now I can usually engage around lv 4-5 on some ennemies thanks to Hiten style/s true damages and my ganker always nets me a kill. However, I'm wondering about the real utility of AS runes : don't they fall off right after you get some AS through Wit's End compared to ArPen Runes, which remain useful all game long ? Or do they really give you an early game advantage in trades/sustain that is too good to pass up ? For example, ArPen runes should have a significant impact on your ult's damage and heal, which must matter a lot more than 16% AS mid-late game, especially if you hit 3+ ennemies in a teamfight.
I agree with the quint choices as well ; Irelia desperately needs some AD between lv 1-4 and one is enough with the points you get in the offensive tree. It's too hard to farm without that, especially if you're facing someone like Lee or Riven. When I remember my pitiful 50 or so AD with the tank build of other guides... It was way too hard to last hit xD
I also think that you should write an in-depth guide about duelling in laning phase. I faced a Riven yesterday and even though she's my main, I couldn't believe the damage she did and didn't know how to counter her. I even had boots + 3 pots + cloth armor thanks to a first blood during an invade. Do you have any advice against ehr or other heavy early AD ?

Thanks again for this very well made guide, one the best and most comprehensive I've seen yet.

I also enjoy this guide, the others are just not my style of playing. That aside, Fiora passive now is stronger then Irellia Hiten Style. And the nerf to Wriggles sorta is another blow to this build. Also, care to add Gragas to ap users?

This is the first Irelia guide I actually kind of like. Since the nerf to Hiten Style sustain has become a problem. Try out doran's blades and msg me what you think, they feel better than wriggles does.

Also, i dissagree with the Udyr/Olaf and Yorick as a very very hard counter. I see them very easy to kill.
Against Udyr you have to buy the magic resist boots first, beacuse his tiger stance deals magic damage. Many ppl think its mellee damage, but it's not.
According to you they're hard, but according to me they're easy to counter. But Malphite can be hard to counter. so dig deeper on them aswell please.

God... This is the best guide i've seen in awhile. But i think this misses some things.
I'm an experianced Irelia player, who has won Guardsman Bob and other very good and famous players. And i will say that you need to help the beginners by giving some tips about the champions: Jarvan, Garen, Lee sin, Mordekaiser, Renekton, Volibear and Shen.
You've put so much effort in this guide, which's been made me a great and feared Irelia player.
Also you've put so much effort on the "what to do against Fiora", i want you to do it on the other champs aswell, and the one's i've listed. This can be an awkward suggestion, but first time i played Irelia, i had no idea what to do.
Your build's very unique and good. There is no items needed, but i think she would be better off with some more hp. But i've scored a 1v5 penta with her a couple of times, so it's okey.
Other than that you should really explain abit more about when to and when not to dive, also i would like to see "Warmog's Armor" and "Force of Nature" as a situational item. They're very usefull sometimes, that's it. And also, i'll definitly give it + rep. But you really should dig the "what to do about these champs" more, beacuse even i need it sometimes when i do a vs against somebody at top in a ranked game, or a custom game.
+ rep.
continue the good work.

Kindly regards.
- Gardrok.

@tehAsian, I think you need to recognize that different builds fit better with different team comps, and frankly depending on the role you're filling Frozen Mallet can be > Trinity Force.

@Slydunan, I think you've got a hidden gem here on MobaFire. While I support your efforts in getting recognized in the MobaFire community, I selfishly hope no one else realizes what this is. Cause I'm having waaaaay too much fun with it. Giant thumbs up from me!

Looks good, but I'm not going to upvote because your items made me go
WTF. (sorry, didn't mean to insult)

1st thing: Trinity Force > Frozen Mallet. You stated that Fromal gives a better slow, BUT since you're getting R > W > E > Q, you don't need the slow. At max rank, E gives one of the BIGGEST slow in the game, and if you're at a lower % health, it's a stun. Also, Trinity Force makes your Q hurt a lot more that with the items you have now.

2: Never get Thornmail, it's proven that Frozen Heart and/or Randuin's Omen shuts down DPS carries harder. It doesn't matter that it costs 1k more, they're just better, and Thornmail is easily mitigated by lifesteal.

3: You have 9 points in W and 1 point in Q. Not really the point of this comment, but just to let you know.

I'll check back later and upvote if I like your response or you make some changes ^^

+1 for this nice guide. Played Irelia with the gp/trinity so far, but your explanation fits to the problems i had. Got now a bit less moving speed, but can stand my role most of the times even i am not a pro. Got some good results last games with your build.

Very helpful to me. Thx a lot.
