Get Phage.

Potentially on Both Udyr's, but mainly Tiger.

People are always debating which is better for jungle; phoenix has a slightly faster clear time due to the AoE procs but your ganks almost inherently require the lane you're going for to have some additional CC (like a Taric ranged stun) as well as it needs to be pushed toward your teams side of the lane. The reason for this is because of the 3 AAs it takes to proc the phoenix stance effect. Tiger on the other hand has the damage front loaded so you're more likely to burst the enemy down. Both are viable options IMO, I prefer tiger because I feel Udyr is an early game gank machine that way.

If you're having issues with ganks and you're running phoenix it's most likely not your fault. The issue lies in the fact that you're not getting enough ToT (time on target) to get the proc off. This could be due to your team mate not tossing CC out if they have it, or some other factor.

I'd strongly reccommend running Flash over Ghost on Udyr. Some people use it because it works well with bear stance, but the ability to Flash+Stun outweighs your chase mode. But it would be helpful if there were more specifics to go off of.

I prefer Ghost over Flash. Flash will give you an element of surprise, but once you have burst your "trump card" its all over. Taking Ghost means your going to work harder for your ganks, but come teamfight time you are RIDICULOUSLY strong. Try ganking top from tri-bush when you have ghost.

Wilding Claw beats Wingborne Storm in straight out burst, but that doesn't mean you can't gank with phoenix. Try ganking at level 3 after you red buff. Take bear at 3 over turtle, gank, go back to farming. Remember that a successful gank doesn't have to be a kill. Making your enemies use their summoners is a win in my book. Udyr can pressure like the best, but securing a kill early is a problem against certain lanes.

Actually I believe their damage out put is comperable, but tiger stance has direct single target front loaded burst whereas phoenix is AoE over time.

Nothing wrong with Ghost, but most opposing carries/solos run flash. You can't ghost over a wall to catch/escape someone, that's why it's in my opinion, infinitely better on 85% of champions opposed to ghost. But we all have our preference.

I would only even consider not taking Flash on a champion who already has a blink ability. And I definitely wouldn't swap it for Ghost.

I'd still take it on Ez/Corki/LB double/triple/quadruple flash? makes slippery champs even slippier and allows you to use your built in Flash offensively while having a back up while it's on CD. But if I couldnt use flash on champs with one already, I'd probably take heal+ignite or exhaust+ignite.

I'm talking mostly about top champs, like Tryndamere or Riven. Ignite + Heal = you win every 1v1 fight for free and can tower dive like a boss.

Even then it's a close call, I'm still undecided between Flash and Heal on Riven.

okay well now that I know your jungling I would just say get flash like everyone else said, and try to make sure your laner is aware of you ganking. Couldn't tell you how many times ive blown flash and the laner had no idea I was ganking...Yeah and get tanky and grab early oracles and control dragon and ganks wont even matter that much.

vs

On most champions this is a simple choice. Flash, most of the time, is the best choice. On Udyr it is debatable though. He has no range at all, so using flash as a gap closer also puts you on the front lines. For ganking this is 'risk' is non-existent, but come mid-late game flash begins to really become a one trick pony on Udyr. Making a entirely melee character dependent on a one time, very long CD, gap closer doesn't sound smart to me. Ghost gives you a little less surprise when ganking, but can still warrant successful ganks.

What I'm trying to say is that yes flash is strong and a great pick. For Udyr I would argue a great deal on its importance. Flash has been king for a while, but honestly Ghost works on Udyr.
