The first thing I state in the introduction is that it's directed to duo laning and solo top. I am just not interested in these items, I am not working on improving a jungling guide or build so please, down vote this for not being "a jungling guide/build" if you want to, which would be stupid, but that was not my intention from the start to make.

I understand those two items are great for hecarim, but I do not use them and if I do it ends up being very late game when I have more then enough money to buy them. That's why I consider gp items useless while I'm playing hec. Others though would find it useful depending on there build.
Now, the guy is the top jungler yes, but I don't understand that relevance because I do not jungle with hecarim therefore our opinions are totally different.
I disagree, the item build cakefirst has given is very useful. What you would be looking at is a jungle build, which has not been put up.
Blaming gp5 items for being useless just makes e more sure that you really dont know about what u are talking.
Heart of Gold = upgrades into Randuin's Omen
philosopher's stone = upgrades into Shurelya's Battlesong
Both are GREAT items for Hecarim if you just wasted a couple minutes to read his status and skills and have at least a bit of common sense you should've noticed that.
Moreover, it is not about TheOddOne being famous, it is why he is. He is just the best jungler in the game. If you ignore what he says about Hecarim, it's like ignoring Albert Einstein's advice when talking about physics.
I was holding back my vote until you improved your guide making use of more time, as the Champion was just released and data is still being collected about him, but it seems you are pretty sure of what you've written here from the top of your 100 games with him. So I will feel free to downvote your guide, because IMO it is the wrong way to play/build Hecarim.

Just because someone recommends it, doesn't make it viable. It doesn't matter how good they are or whatever. It can be useful, yes, but not enough to spend you're money on. gp items are based on long term money making, and if you play hec right, once you make it into the later game then you will be earning more then enough money to render those gp items useless.
And about the gp5 items, trying to argue against TheOddOne recomendations. It's just the proof that you don't know much about what you are talking xD

I disagree so much with the hec laning. Compared to others, hec is terrible at jungling early game. Once you get in later game, you can do it like I do to op him. Duo laning partners are the best for hec, specially once he gets his ult. Where in the world do you get a different idea?
Devastating Charge is not your main damage unless you're playing him wrong. I used to think the same thing, but if you grab heal and ghost they overextend a lot thinking you're about to die. Which allows you to use continuous rampage seeing as it has a 1 sec cooldown after three attacks and ghost nearly doubles it's power. Then you use your ult to stop the other guy from running away.
Phantom dancer is perfect for hec. it has alrady been elaborated why so I won't go into detail. The rest I'm not gonna mention on, it's up to cakefirst to look at that BUT the gold gathering ones for the start of the game is wrong. Hec does not need them, trust me.

Now, about your guide. I don't got why you have a special section to tell us what lane partners can do good with Hecarim. Hecarim is not to duo lane with anyone. If duo laning, your partner won't benefit of any of your skills, and it is harder than never to apply Devastating Charge's knock back properly. Hecarim is a jungler, and in the lack of better replacement, solo top (even if solo top with him can be a major waste of his potential).
Devastating Charge is your MAIN way to deal damage. Don't believe everything that Phreak says in the spotlights lol. Rampage is only good to trigger Sheen's proc, and that you can do with only level one, as the cooldown/mana cost won't decrease/increase with leveling. In the other hand, Devastating Charge gains major damage as it levels up, and the cooldown is reduced as well and the mana cost remains the same. Makes you more likely to survive ganks/counter-jungle AND applies Sheen proc (not confirmed).
Of your builds, the first one is pretty standard, works for the most of the bruisers, from A to Z. The second one is almost near of what I consider optimal, only that I don't like Phantom Dancer in anyone but people that really relly on auto-attacking/critical hits to deal damage. That is not for Hecarim. And about Bloodthirster, Hecarim doesn't need it either. He doesn't even need Wriggle's Lantern for jungling. His W is enough to sustain him. I'd replace Phantom Dancer, Bloodthirster and Frozen Heart for Shurelya's Battlesong, Randuin's Omen and Youmuu's Ghostblade. If you can start up with philosopher's stone and Heart of Gold, that will make your money going and going, as well as will provide some needed survivability. However, having 3 active items in the end of the game can be tricky, but i dont find that a major problem.
