That magnetic field will have an effect on nearby wires and create a current on those wires as well perpendicular to the field generated. Also, what's 1 gb of internet speed? Each eth cable has a different maximum speed, it's usually written on it along the cord. The most common either have a 100 Mbit/s limit or a 1 Gbit/s limit. However, such limit is imposed by your router/modem as well, just because the cable can support higher speeds it doesn't mean your ISP will allow you to. That's why that guy's method works. By rolling a second cable around the first you will be inducting the current on the first cable, doubling the speed your ISP allows you to use because the data is now coming from 2 cables and you're transferring it from the 2nd cable to the 1st one, which hasn't reached it's physical limit.[/quote]
