Point is they don't have to, but they do, and it's best to let them :)

There is a search function. And it includes guides. However, it is not a good way to find guides. It ranks results purely based on language accuracy - the words you use in your search. It does not take into account guide quality or age or any other measures of relevancy. So you are better off using the browse page. We've discussed this all several times before :)

Koksei: There is a search function, but that's not what MobaFire "needs". It just needs a better filtering page. Be able to look for TT, Jungle etc.

Matt: I know. I feel at the very least it'd be nice to have BUILD | GUIDE | DISCUSSION, as it's neat, orderly and... just better that way.

One of the things I was never comfortable with was that you land on the guide page... And there's no text, just the build. We tried allowing authors to put an introduction below the build but it made the tabs and pages really awkward. We tried putting the table of contents under the build but it was awkward. Unfortunately having a separate guide tab still has that issue. I don't really like the idea that users have to click twice, every time, to see the guide.

We also considered making builds actual chapters in the guide, so that authors could have complete control over everything. We had a number of other ideas like that but weren't really happy with any of them.

So it's just still at the drawing board :)

Also I definitely agree we need better guide categorization. We have been discussing that too, not yet at a decision on how to handle it but it's up on our list.

Ah okay thank you!
Probably "before my time" or in the vet forums.

@jhoi yeah I actually made a thread about it .. some time ago. But it didn't get dat much attention even tho you posted in it I think. I had the idea to be able to select a "position/lane" in your guide and then add sth to the filters like "position"

sth like:

and then just add at "tab" with "position" next to those:

^I said something like this too. We found the problem was people who wrote guides for AP Solo top mid bot jungle support tank ad Lulu in twisted treeline dominion summoner's rift the proving grounds and hybrid Lulu too - all in the same guide.

How does someone decide where that sort of guide will go? They don't, they get greedy and try to feature it everywhere, when the more honest people will only be featured in one or two.

Matt: I understand what you mean. Once multiple purchase orders etc come out, it'd probably easier to split the guide from the build.

I mean making a guide about a champ with all those roles would be like.. super long.

And let's say "normal" guides usually feature 1-2 positions mostly top/jungle or mid/top sth like that.

And if you are doin a guide for twisted treeline then seperate it :/ just make a new one.. I mean if you got the text just copy paste it and it should be enough.

For rule violations we got the mods, and report right?

Except it's not a rule violation. The last time I brought this up, MissMaw said she intended to make a Sejuani guide for all the maps and for most of the roles. It's not against the rules. And there are guides out there already that feature 1-3 maps and different roles, such as GrandMasterD's Cho guide.

Um I meant it like..
You should only be able to use ONE map.
If you are going to write about all different maps just make a new guide and copy paste.

And what I meant with rule violations is this:
"How does someone decide where that sort of guide will go? They don't, they get greedy and try to feature it everywhere, when the more honest people will only be featured in one or two."

if people try to feature it in a category it clearly doesn't belong just report it/move it

When editing a guide, even if you start on the revision page, if you press one of the ToC links it takes you to the published guide instead of the section of the revised guide that you were wanting to look at. This is kind of annoying. Just a little bug I thought I'd point out :)

Thanks again Matt for all the work!

Just put up an update, take a look. We've done a number of small changes to the sizing and positioning of things.

The first thing I expect anyone to freak out about is the ability sequence. In order to address concerns that it was just too big and attention-grabbing, we have reduced it in size quite a lot. We also moved the passive to the top and changed its look. In order to do this we had to remove the names, leaving you with only the icons and tooltips to determine what the abilities are. I expect some freakouts over the name being gone, so let us know what you think.

We cannot keep it small with the name in and with the new visuals. Putting the name to the left of the blocks on the same row doesn't leave enough room for the blocks. Putting the name above the blocks makes the ability sequence too big. This is the only way to keep it small.

We also shrunk up the runes, added names and cost back under items, including cost tooltips, added the stats tooltips back in, and replaced the mastery tree backgrounds with an updated version.

So take a look and let us know if this addresses your concerns about the look and function of this new design :)

Edit: We also fixed page titles for those that open lots of tabs, we shrunk up the stats box a bit to make room, and we added a bit of a gap between the two teams on team builds so it's easier to read.
