to list a few
*performance issues
*game story (which is one of the main selling points) ranges from outstanding to bad to worse.
*voice acting (again one of the main selling points) ranges from bad to switching the voice actor for a character in the middle of a cutscene
*the imperials farming valor on ilum, someone who posted a glitch to help the republic side on ilum got banned, bioware/ea just raising the price on all goods bought from valor so that the imps who farmed the valor are unaffected but everyone else is unable to buy anything
*patch 1.2 which had the servers down all day for maintenance (when it was scheduled for a few hours) and they even ended up doing a rollback the day after. no backup servers either, so if you were in the new areas of 1.2 your character was deleted
*saying ranked pvp would be in 1.2 only to remove it half a day before patch went live
*guild banks disappearing along with all loot inside
*matrix cubes dissapearing (which take about 6 days to farm according to biodrones)
*banning people for going into higher level areas and looting chests
*banning people for playing the auction house (buying the low priced items and selling them higher)
*banning people for farming mobs for drops
*banning someone for saying 'i'm 12 an what is this' and banning someone for joking about credit selling
*removing all criticism from their forums
*game is a complete carbon copy of wow, down to class abilities
*all the races are just recolored humans
*the engine prototype they bought in 2005 was deemed finished by the company making it in late 2011, meaning the game runs on a prototype engine
*the day before everyones free month ended for buying the game, ea removed the button on your profile linking you to the page to cancel your subscription. any attempt to post the direct link on the forums resulted in a swift lock of thread and removal of post for 'spam'
theres still more.

I like things that make me feel stupid. - Ken Levine
It was to be expected.. SWTOR's game mechanic is mimicking WoW's, and if people left WoW because they were bored of it why the hell would they keep playing SWTOR? Even without all the bugs and imbalances it still wouldn't hold on it's own. Yeah, it would get a couple hundreds of thousands Star Wars fans, but it will never be able to compete with the new MMOs.
WoW's combat mechanic was the best for what the technology allowed at the time, but we have better technology now. Targeting combat systems are not needed any more, we can use more action-like combat mechanics which are simply better. If they're going to use the old system then they need to make a game with at least as much production quality as WoW, and they simply failed to do so, it's not even close.
@FridgeOy
you can't pirate online games.. Even if you get the client where the hell will you play it? Given enough time someone will open a pirate server, but the gameplay quality of a pirate server usually cannot match the original server.
I don't think f2p is a viable option for an mmo, so I will never ever dedicate time to a f2p MMO. The production quality of f2p mmos is just too low, it doesn't generate enough money to make a good game. They're simply not worth playing.
@Caucheka
how is "f2p with item shop (purely cosmetic)" the best system? It may be a good system for moba games like LoL and Dota2, but not for MMOs.. Name just one good MMO that uses such a system.

IMO p2p is no longer a viable option when you can pirate almost anything with the right know how. Games should be f2p like LoL and players could pay and support the game if they truly enjoy it.
Just my spin on things :)

following the news, ea's stock has dropped to the lowest its ever been since 1999, following a 70% decrease in the past 5 years.
ea put everything on TOR and me3 and me3 is pretty much all but forgotten at this point and tor, as the buggy convoluted ****pile it is, is quickly sinking down the drain.
in fact, ea ceo says tor isnt even in its top 5 priorities, stating madden and medal of honor as having higher standing than tor. thats ****ing sad.

on a related note, battlefield 3s next dlc features maps inspired by call of duty, and by that i mean extremely small tight indoor quarters to feature 'fast frantic gameplay.'
