Haven't seen it yet but meh, it's uninventive. I thought about trying one hextech -> will of the ancients when he was free but I thought: Hey, he's so damn easy to play already, why bother?

I find it laughable when people act like it's so hard to use him.
Any champion that can roll out of a bush during a team fight and instantly win the team fight, isn't hard to use.
He also has the easiest escape mechanism other than Kennen, and don't give me that "Derp Derp it uses 20% life DERP DERP", like that really matters. He does MASSIVE damage while healing himself.
Honestly, he's easy...
It's ridiculous that the skill level differential is so great between playing characters like Morde and vlad to nidalee and casseopia. The Morde and vlad users might as well play with their faces and do just as well as everyone else, if not, better

vlad is almost as faceroll as sona. 2 of his skills heal him, one increases the healing effects of his healing spells, and one of the healing spells is an annoying as hell escape mechanism that allows him to escape from anything.

Hey wait, I thought we were talking about spell vamp vlad versus ap vlad guys! Not just bashing him. :)
I saw this build, and I left the comment that I wanted to see WHY spell vamp would be better than straight AP, because I prefer straight AP. Maybe just the surprise factor, but otherwise, if people know what you are doing, I think it is easy enough to counter. Ignites / cc screw you even more than AP vlad because you DEPEND on your spell vamp for success. I know there's still a fair amount of AP in the spell vamp build, but I think it could be better spent on other items with beneficial effects. Like Rylai's so you can kite, or Zhonya's to avoid focus.
Also... I know Vlad is easy, but he is still one of my favorite characters simply because there's so much you can do with him. I think even though he is easy to do well with, when you are a good Vlad player, you can finesse so many more kills / saves. And hey... he is fun! :)

Thanks to Minho for my sig!
lol i know how did we get carried away......
anwyays like i said the spell vamp build will (guarantee unless you suck so bad at this game) GET YOU FED. Once you got the money you sell each REVOLVER for 800 gold, you could easily get rylais, zhonyas, upgrade to Will of the Ancients

The thing about this:
Transfusion: Vladimir drains the lifeforce of his target, dealing 70 / 115 / 160 / 205 / 250 (+60% of ability power) magic damage and healing himself for 25% (+100% of ability power) of that amount.
Notice, it heals him for 100% of his ability power, and 25% of his transfusion.
hextech revolver: 40 AP, 15 spell vamp.
5 of those (assuming you have boots) would add up to 200 AP and 75% spell vamp. Calculating this into transfusion: 250 + .6(200)= 370 damage. That's not a whole lot, honestly.
for the built-in heal on transfusion: .25(370) + 200 = 292.5
For the spell vamp: .75(370)= 277.5
That gives you 370 damage and 570 health. Not a lot of damage for 6000 gold.
Now, let's consider JUST zhonya's ring and a void staff. 5755 gold for them both.
190 AP plus the zhonya's boost of 25% gives you 237.5 AP.
Now to plug that into transfusion equation: 250 + .6(237.5) = 535 damage. Much more impressive, not to mention the magic penetration.
For the heals: .25(535) + 237.5 = 371.25
As you can see, your build gives you 165 less damage but 198.75 more healing. Now, you claim you'll get fed with this. I don't quite agree, as you'll be doing less damage mid game with more sustainability, but in the end game you'll sell it all and lose money doing so. It seems like a terrible waste for a bit more heals on transfusion for only a small part of your game.
My advice: grab a single hextech revolver early game, upgrade it to will of the ancients later. You have some spell vamp in this case, but you're not overdoing it.

good response, but what about the other abilities, here i my common build
Boots or Amp Tome (Health Pots)
+3 Speed Boots or Sorcerer or Merc Treads
3 x Hextech Revolvers
Convert 1 Revolver to the Will of the Ancients
Rylais Crystal Scepter
So far you have: UPGRADED BOOTS, WILL OF THE ANCIENTS (BTW DONT STACK THIS), RYLAIS CRYSTAL SCEPTER, AND X3 REVOLVERS.
Once you get about 1.5k + sell the revovlers in for ZHONYAS ring. Now your set with VLADS regular AP items, but you should have gotten them quicker than going for regular AP,
After ZHONYAS you can grab more revolvers, build a gunblade (not really useful/worth it because the ATK damage is unecessary), or you can get LICH BANE, etc. or whatever tanky, AP item is needed!
When your at the point with Boots, Will of the Ancients, Rylais, Zhonyas and 1 revolver +
YOU WILL HAVE ABOUT (AROUND) 500 AP

Again your probably saying "ONLY REVOLVERS? YOUR CRAZY" i know its a weak build late game and you will be destroyed. But in early and mid game, this build gets you so ******** fed you just sell all those revolvers (along with all the extra money you farmed up) upgrade your revolvers to gunblades, or just go regular TANK AP build. Your W AND E gets you so MUCH LIFESTEAL its not even funny. Along with TRANFUSION and its AP ratio SPELL VAMP.
SO IS THIS OP OR NOT? POST YOUR COMMENTS! (i didn't create this build)
