The Gaming Series Pro League continues tomorrow, Thursday May 31 at 20:00 CEST (12:00 PST) with CLG(EU) vs. Eclypsia, and 22:00 CEST (14:00 PST) with Team Sypher vs. x6tence. You can find the official TGS stream here and watch the event live shoutcasted by Matt Adams.

For those of you who don’t know, TGS has been hosting an ongoing tournament involving 4 groups and 24 teams competing to earn the most points, and the teams with the most points at the end of the circuit will get a cash prize and a laptop for 1st place, and a cash prize for 2nd and 3rd place. If you want to catch up you can view the rules here and the current totals here. To watch previous matches please check TGS’s own3d channel.

However, the more interesting e-sports event coming up on June 1 at 12:00 PST is the Riot World Invitational. In this event Riot has invited 5 of the world’s top players to play against the 5 most skilled players in the entire Riot company. This event will be hosted by Phreak and Rivington the Third, both of whose shoutcasting I greatly enjoyed while watching Dreamhack.

Here are the World Invitational Contenders:

• Elementz (Curse Gaming) – Canada
• Misaya (World Elite) – China
• Mistake (Taipei Assassins) – Taiwan
• MakNoon (NaJin e-mFire) – Korea
• Snoopeh (CLG-EU) – Scotland

It’s exciting to see 3 representatives from the Asian e-sports scene, as I am not as familiar with them. I’ve heard a lot of people talk about the differences between NA play and EU play, but not so much Asian playstyles and strategies. I look forward to seeing all of these fantastic players work together.

I must say after watching the last Riot staff vs. Pro players at Dreamhack (The video is hilarious, you should totally watch it!) I do not have very high hopes for Riot’s success, but who knows? Maybe they’ve gotten more employees that excel at the game? Maybe I just like rooting for the underdog? Be sure to tune in and watch this sure-to-be-fun match!
Thanks to Minho for my sig!

After watching this video, I learned that:
  • AP Karma counters Annie
  • Pendragon needs to be nerfed
  • Phreak is a freaky guy
  • Nunu eats cheeseburgers for lunch

The World Riot Invitational's starting soon! They haven't given a link for the stream yet, but I bet it will be streaming on the LoL client!
