I've seen people wreck with this build and I would definitely recommend it as a starting point for people looking to play Janna outside of her usual support role.

@Phil - I was thinking about using Athene's Unholy Grail, but stacking Archangel's Staff gives out a large amount of AP that Janna really needs. With about 3000 Mana, each Archangel's Staff will give out 45 + 90 AP. They also give you all the Mana you will ever need. CDR is sometimes an issue though, so I will give Athene's Unholy Grail another try.

@Lorentz - archangel's gives almost the most AP out of any item in the game, especially when they are stacked. Most of the times with Janna, you will nuke someone before running away. While CDR might be nice if they try to chase me, I would rather get more more AP to have a bigger nuke. In team fights, I usually nuke/kill the enemy adc before using my ult to reset the fight (if i need to) and heal my team to full health. That said, CDR is a big issue when chasing someone or doing a 1v1 where you dont do enough damage to them in a single burst. If this is the case and I need more CDR I will get it. Its all about adapting to the situation.

@Razormaul - Janna needs a very early deathcap to be able to farm well, and Mana isnt a huge issue if you know how to conserve it. Early game, anther Blasting Wand on Janna does a lot more than extra Mana. If Mana becomes an issue, then Tear of the Goddess early might be a very good idea.

@Emo - W is much easier to hit than Q and has a slightly higher AP ratio than Q, so yes, it is a much better single target spell than Q. I max Q first though, because once you get it to level 4 or 5 it can start clearing creep waves. The sooner you can do this, not only will it be easier to farm, but it will also let you roam around some with the extra time you have.

I like the guide very much. Informative, thorough, sense-making. I can't help but wonder why you'd max Q over W, for W has easier single-target damage, but hell, if it works, it works. +1 from me.

@lorentz well 5 second cooldown is fine it seems since there is a 6 second cooldown on increasing your mana on Tear of the Goddess and a 3 second cooldown for increasing your mana with Archangel's Staff.
And if you are planning on getting Archangel's Staff, why don't you get Tear of the Goddess early to stack up the mana?

AP janna is a bad joke, it basically exists to clear waves, but even by those standards this is weak

archangels staff? really?
How do you plan on stacking that tear with your 5+ second cooldowns on every single ability? It takes karthus around 30 minutes and his Q has a 0.5 second cooldown.

Nice guide well done it looks pretty but I dont believe in stacking items especially archangels staff if you have mana problems why dont you use Athene's Unholy Grail?
