The rules of the Forums say:

Quoted:
3. No personal attacks or flaming. We won't disallow the use of profanity (after all, you're not children :P) but the attacking, insulting, or flaming of another user is not tolerated around here. If you have a problem with a user, send him/her a private message or even better, report the user. Any instance of an attack on another user will result in an immediate warning PM and a temporary/permanent ban for future offenses.

So obviously, if someone is doing this, we can report them. However, when you click on "report" to report for them for breaking this rule, the only options you have to choose from are:

Quoted:

Troll voting.
Out of date or missing data.
A bug or other issue with the site.
Spam, abusive behavior or cheating from other MOBAFire users.

Now they're being rude, so which of these options do I pick? They're not troll voting, not really related to having an out of date guide, it's not a bug (unless you consider rudeness an illness).

The final option seems most fitting, but from my reading of it it sounds like this is for "abusing the system" type offenses, not really "abusing other members". Is this really the option we're supposed to select when someone gets out of control? How about reporting something like inappropriate +Repping? Should these both get filed under that last option?

If you could clarify that for me and if they do apply, change the wording so that it "does" include them? Or add another option for this type of situation?

I've always chosen the last option when reporting this as I feel it is closest to "cheating" the system.

I'm pretty sure "abusive behaviour" covers your issue. In general, I think the last option is meant for anything related to the behaviour of another Mobafire user, including personal attacks/flaming.

I usually consider it "abusive behavior", I will let you in on a secret though: It doesn't matter which option you pick they all go to the same place and we will read your report to decide what's going on rather than looking at what was picked from that dropdown list.

I think that list is mostly for people reporting trollvoters so it will prompt them to read our rules regarding it first.

"Abusive behaviour" is abusing other users, which covers personal attacks and flaming.

And as Wayne said, something like a "+Rep me" blog is considered cheating.

What about saying "Remember to +Rep me if you think I deserve it." at the end of every post that you and many other people have? That's obviously what +rep is for, but by reinforcing that idea isn't it putting extra pressure on the person to +rep?

We allow it in sigs, but I'd say if you put it literally at the end of every post that that would be spammy and I would warn the person. But you SEEM to be referring to sigs. ;P

That's what signatures are, a means to put a sentence/image at the end of every posts. There's really no difference between the two.

Still, if asking for "+rep" is cheating then asking for "+rep if ______" should be as well. There plenty of people who say "+ rep me if I make you a signature" or "+rep me if my comment was useful" or "+rep me if you liked my guide" etc. etc. However, all of these do the exact same thing as the simple "please +rep me".

I mean, when you read "please +rep me" you think:
He's asking for +rep, does he deserve it?
When you read "+rep me if you think I deserve it" you think:
He's asking for +rep, does he deserve it?

The "don't ask for +rep rule" isn't being enforced at all. The rule is "You are not allowed to ask for +rep in any way. It is also against the rules to bribe, trade or blackmail other users for +rep", but people are still asking for it in their signatures, bribing/trading signatures for +rep in signature shops and those "I'll rate your guide" topics.

However, I think that the rule shouldn't even exist. It's not only very hard to enforce here in the forums/guides, it's also impossible to enforce outside of the forums. I can ask potatis or searz to trade +rep with me, for example, and you'll never find out. So, even though it would be a good rule to have since the whole rank system is based on it, it is still impossible to enforce and even somewhat unfair. For example, if I make a signature for someone shouldn't I be able to ask them for a +rep? I helped them, that's the least they can do, and even though no one would refuse giving a +rep to someone who made their sig they are still likely to forget about it when it's not asked for.

Actually, it's not allowed to demand rep for signatures, reviews etc. in shops anymore, that has been made clear a while ago and all shops have had to change that. Asking for rep is allowed (this includes stuff like "+rep me if you feel I deserve it", he's not forcing anyone to rep him), saying "If I make you a signature, you have to +rep me" is not.

"You are not allowed to ask for +rep in any way."
The rule is pretty clear. It doesn't matter if you point a gun at him and force him to click the +rep button or if you ask "If I was helpful to you and if you think I deserve it do you mind considering the possibility of giving me a +rep?", they are both against the rules. You are not allowed to ask for +rep in any way.
Besides, even if it was allowed there's still no practical difference between saying "If I make you a signature, you have to +rep me" and "If I make you a signature, +rep me if you like it".

Was mainly commenting on the fact you mentioned it's not being enforced at all, but personally I'd be happy to see all +rep related sentences be removed from signatures etc.
