Hey, I only tried your build out a few times, and I'm rather new to the game, but so far i really like the build itself and the way it is described and presented, good structured, clear arguments.

Good work including the latest Ryze Patch info and keeping the guide fresh. I like the style and layout of the build too.

Uh, great, never seen this like you, now I understand your choices and your runes. I only tested your build 4 times, so I didn't remark that changes. I will test it more and may comment it again ;D

Actually, you are wrong about AP ryze.. his AP ratio scale so pathetic even with 1000AP, his overload will only do +200 (Overload)... and an average game with my build, my mana scales around +350 (Overload) Well it's indeed if those combined, overload will be able to deal 700 (if full pen).. but would you REALLY sacrifice survivability for damage? I mean if you build core item (TofG, Banshee,Boot,FH) and then upgrade TotG to Archangel staff, and buy let say.. abyssal scepter and deadcap.. your AP would be around 400 - 500 with elixir.. thats about +100 damage to overload... but if you go for warmog and fon/thorn.. you would be able to SURVIVE in teamfight for 15 - 30 sec more.. thats enough for you to burst down an ace.

And about the intellect runes.. WITHOUT them, your overload will only hit 40 instead of 100 @ lvl 1.. seems like nothing, but in mid against squishy casters, you can overload them 4 times and force them to recall and loose exp.. BUT WITHOUT those runes, you will have to cast 10 times to force them recall.. by that time, you would have to recall yourself too because of your mana being empty. Trust me.. I've been playing ryze for almost a year.. He was indeed OP caster before, but not anymore.. Hes a tank.

If you want to play a real ap caster, go play Brand or such..

The reason they "nerfed" ryze, is because they wanted him to be carry/tanky .. not burster like leblanc who dies in 2 sec if focused.

Oh and as you can see by score pictures, my death ratio is around 4 each match (0 - 8) but if you would happend to play AP, that would raise to around 12 death each match.

Your objects will give you a well protected Ryze, but he wont make a lot of damage because of missing AP.
Are you sure you need all this intellect-runes? Having Tear of the Goddess early and then Banshee's Veil (+375 Mana) and Frozen Heart (+500 Mana) you wont get any Mana-problems.

But all in all it is a good build for an aggressively played Ryze because you don't have to care about your HP, like you have to do, playing an AP-Ryze.
