I'm gonna say what I think is "standard" for a gamer pc, if you need less or more it's up to you.

-8gb 1600mhz (ram)
-i5/i7 with 3ghz or more (2nd and 3rd generation are good)
-Nvidia (500+) ATI (6000+) (check the charts online for your needs few cards in those categorie won't even do the job so be sure to check the charts)

For all the other parts just grab good quality/price deals that fits with your CPU/Graphic Card/Memory

From there you choose if you need more or less, if you play mostly on your pc you might need more, if you only play games like league of legends and use internet a bit you might need less (Like I said what I listed is pretty much "standard" for gamers). Hope it helped.

no
You should build your computer
Im not going to suggest what to build but i will give you standards for gaming

CPU - ATLEAST a Ivy Bridge i3
i7 would be the best

GPU - Any Geforce GTX
A 690 is the best

RAM - ATLEAST 4 gig though i really really really really really recommend more
To put it in perceptiveness Battlefield 3 uses 2 gigs of ram,
4 Should be the least for a gaming computer
8+ is ideal and recommended
Quick tip: aim for 1866 mhz
that will give faster performance

I will leave it for you to figure out the rest of the parts
BTW it isnt hard to build a computer
i Built mine and saved about 500 dollars
plus this will run ANYTHiNG
Yes Anything

yea you should build, it depends on your budget, I can help you put together a build depending on your price. Also if you live in New Jersey I can build it for you! :D I'll msg you in game.

Elaborating on what Cudds said, you should get an least an i5 Ivy Bridge, and K series since it is unlocked, allowing for overclocking (even if you don't plan on doing it it is nice to have in case you ever think of ocing in the future)

don't get the 690 unless you have like a $3000 budget, lol. The GTX 670 is over the top, can max everything out, and is ~$400 (what I have); 690 is only useful for multiple monitors, and is like $900 >_>

For RAM, you NEED at least 8 gigs, any more is too much and can actually lower gaming performance and lower, you will often run out of RAM for many tasks. 4 gigs is for basic stuff.

Hard drive, an SSD is really nice, you can do a 56 or 128 gig SSD for boot drive and major applications and then a 1TB HDD for everything else.

If you want a laptop, you should get it custom built through xoticpc.com, it is much cheaper than going through major brands, say AlienWare, they don't have as good customer service and overcharge for their name -- xotic custom builds, doesn't charge too much, and has terrific service.

Talk to me on league for more info on this stuff, I literally spent around 3 weeks of my life straight looking all this **** up, just recently built my computer (May), working really nicely, so I basically know everything there is to know about building and things.

Good budget video card on the market is the HD 6950, GTX 560 TI 448 cuda cores is a good alternative too if you prefer NVIDIA.

Well it's pretty hard to say what
you ought to get, especially if you
haven't stated your budget and such.
Naturally though, the more you initially
spend, the longer you can go without having
to get a new computer.

What's your budget? Or approx amount of money
you'd be willing to spend?

Should it be a laptop or desktop?

If it's a laptop, are you really sure you'll be moving around that much
anyway?

Do you intend to use it for gaming?

If you do want to game on it, what kind of games?

It's nice to know these things, if you're asking others.
Since, if the computer is meant for gaming, you'll need a good
or maybe even great graphics card, depending on what you'll be
playing. Similarly, if you're not moving around with it so much,
it would make more sense to get a desktop instead of a laptop.
And you can blow an awful lot of cash on computers, so having
a cap you have to stay below kind of helps, since there's always
better hardware out there.

zzz server error deleted my post when I tried previewing it. So, short answer time! (also because I really need to sleep)

I want a desktop, because I finally have the space for one.

My budget is literally anything (azn parents making TONS OF DAMAGE money off stock marketing wtf) but I'm only willing to spend around 1500-1600 at most because I'm planning on buying a laptop in a few months SPECIFICALLY for gaming.

The reason I'm buying is because 1. The one with Vent broke annnnd the one I'm using for League is my sister's laptop. Also comes with unbearable lag spikes at night. And 2. I need a computer for school, gaming is secondary but still somewhat of a priority.

@Wrath

I'd like to talk about it ^_^ And thanks for your help~

Too bad I'm not in New Jersey though :/

btw, what's overclocking? O_o

So ima check back tomorrow morning.

Overclocking is when you make
the hardware perform more than it
normally does. Manufacturers sometimes
build stuff so it's easily overclocked.
Some don't. If you overclock too much,
you can break stuff however.
He says (and I agree) that you
would be good getting something you can
overclock, in case you want to.

With 1600$ you can pretty much build whatever you want, unless you go crazy and buy all the crazy hardware. You have a pc that will last you for 4 years at least
