I feel like if your going to top lane you should pick up your w first then q or e then q or e (whichever went unpicked before) then max w followed by q if your going tank or q followed by w if your going for more damage.
As for items prolly standard atma/mallet bruiser. His ferocity system is interesting and will probably take people a while to figure out. Triforce might be good for the attack speed for more ferocity plus the sheen proc on his q....

trinity force is alright, hes got an on hit spell and has a pretty good cd on it, but his other cooldowns are kinda.. meh.
obv bonetooth is a must on him, but in general he seems like a boring old atrimogs bruiser.

Buildwise, normal Atrimog's bruiser. His stacking item is very cost efficient even unstacked and because of that it is a must buy.
