This question is a little embarrassing. But as you all can already tell, I've built transitioning from bot to normals into something way bigger than it actually is. I think. I've effectively scared myself for no reason.

So basically, am I ready to start normals? I'm currently lv20 and have been playing for around 5 months. My strongest champions are Rumble, Twitch, Ezreal, Teemo, Garen, Yi, Sivir, and Mundo. With all the above, I can pull off >15 kills easily in bot games. While it being not unusual for me to pull >20 kills with Twitch, Rumble, Teemo, Garen, and Yi. I've hit 39 kills with Twitch recently, with only 2 deaths. In fact, my deaths tend to run <5 with all the toons mentioned. Ya know, unless I'm tilting or distracted. I prefer to run top lane.

I want to work on my skill with AP burst champions, currently practicing with Veigar and Ryze. I've been practicing with Mundo as well, tanking for my team. Well, as much as one can tank in a bot game. I'm picking the role up nicely, I want to buy Shen to practice with soon. And I further want to improve my skill with support/cc champions, though I've never played one. Any advice for a starting support/cc champion would be greatly appreciated. I'm thinking either Taric or Janna would be a good starting champion to improve my cc/support game.

So, am I building this up to be something it isn't? Or am I really going to get stomped to all he** once I start normals? I'm getting bored with bots, and want to stretch my arms out a bit, figuratively speaking. Also, I have no runes.

Thank you guys for your time and effort!

Thank you for the hasty reply! Much appreciated. I have no idea why I've developed such a bad case of cold feet. I used to play WoW PvP and ended up doing really well. I am hoping LoL turns out similar.

I'd definitely not do it D: Jumping straight from Co-Op vs AI into normals will result in absolute shock, especially if you got to level 30 completely from bot games. I'd suggest playing a lot of ARAMs on the Proving Grounds. The playstyle will introduce you to champions you may not yet have come across, you'll be playing against real people of all skill levels, and no one will flame you if you do poorly.

Once you've got a few ARAMs under your belt, and the prospect of playing against people no longer gives you cold feet, you'll be less worried about preforming in a normal game, and focus on the fun of working as a team :)

Who cares if its a shock?! In order to learn the game, you need to play it. ARAM's aren't gonna do anything. Everyone plays with a random champ and is not really doing their best. RIOT designed a matchmaking system for a reason; I suggest you make use of it. When I joined LoL, there was no CO-OP vs. AI.

lol, I was about 800 games into LoL before Co-Op vs AI came out (that's level 30 plus about 400 games). As you didn't start playing with Co-Op vs AI, then you can't know the difficulty people have during the transition. All you have to do is look at my dad or my sister, both of whom got to 20+ on Co-op and do horribly in real games.

They feel way too insecure to jump into normals due to the fact they get raged at.

My dad is now enjoying ARAMs, getting to learn new champions and be up against some he hasn't been up against in Co-op vs AI. It's a good learning field, and it's great practice for damage tolerance.

But that doesnt mean jumping into the real deal is bad. It makes you learn a ton, especially if you just queue up with mates. Or just ask ppl in the MobaFire chat, np!

The best way to learn is to play normals. I had a friend who played coop to 20s and switched to normals. After like 3 games he got used to the system. The normal games won't have that much of a normal Elo to them considering none have been played. If people start raging just /ignore them and play the game.

Thank you for the input! I've tried to join ARAMS actually, every instance being banned. Lol, I'm not sure why. I figured ARAMS would be a slaughter-fest, so no one would notice my n00bness and I could get over my fear of dying, haha.

I think I can get the team mechanics down really quickly actually, as I have a lot of experience in other RPGs. Nothing foreign about that, I just need time to orientate. What I'm most confused about is the skill level of other players.

Ya know? The fact LoL is an e-sport leads me to believe there are a significant amount of players who take the game really seriously. Plus, a lot of people hype themselves up beyond reason. And I'm kinda falling for it. From the opposite perspective though; judging by what I've witnesses in bot games I'd almost think normals would be easier than bot in some cases. I've seen many players get absolutely trumped by bots.
