but there is a performance peak at 8 GB, after that is actually lowers the performance of many programs (very minimally but still). Past 8 you really don't need unless you wanna watch your porn while playing 15 games and photoshopping.

I'm pretty sure you can go past 8 on 64 Home...
besides the point, regardless of OS, it's been proven that having more than 8 gigs RAM lowers FPS on all programs oh so slightly :P
if you need the extra RAM it's not a big deal, but almost no one does.
