Note: this is an update on what I wrote before, I felt things have changed enough to rewrite the whole thing. (SSDs have gone down in price over 10% in 2 weeks ***** yes*)

My main goals are to make my computer more quiet, to upgrade the gaming capabilities and to decrease my loading times (purchasing an SSD).

(prices are in Swedish sek, google sek to USD or local currency for conversion)
So far I'm 90% sure I'll be buying Fractal Design Define R4 (recommended by mr.Jonas Thörnqvist) + 2fans - 900sek+~300sek

Then come the hard choices (their performance is nigh the exact same):
Sapphire HD7870: better overclocking - 2150sek
vs
Asus GTX660: PhysX, really quiet fan - 2250sek
vs
Zotac GTX660: PhysX, shorter length - 2100sek

I'm having MAJOR trouble deciding here. It's a REQUIREMENT that it has a good fan. I do NOT want a loud graphics card.
Please give recommendations.
(PhysX is a VERY minor thing for me)

128GB Samsung SSD: 520MB/s & 80k IOPS read 320MB/s & 30k IOPS write - 850sek
vs
256GB Samsung SSD: 520MB/s & 80k IOPS read 400MB/s & 36k IOPS write - 1650sek

The 256GB SSD has roughly 20% higher write performance (although read performance is more important, which is the same on both) and costs 3% less per GB. I'm feeling very tempted to get the 256GB SSD for the better price/performance, but I'm still not certain.

Definitely get the Asus. I have an Asus 670 and it's really awesome. The built-in overclocking software works really well, it's super easy to just set your fan speeds and temperature curves. Plus you'd be getting an Nvidia :3

For SSD, it depends on how much non-steam stuff you have. With your 300 games, you will obviously be keeping your steam files on your HDD, and I assume if you do that virtual file thing it doesn't take up more than ~30 gigs. Even after OS installation you'll have a little more than 100 on your SSD, so with that steam virtual thing, you still have ~70 gigs for other vitals and games and stuff. If you need more, than get the 256. I'm running a 128 and 1TB HDD and I have all I want on my SSD and 20 gigs to spare. And all that's on my HDD is steam stuff and some other games like Blacklight, Firefall, and Mechwarrior.

Nvidia has no real advantage over AMD.. Don't be a fanboy. It never helps.

Do I really wanna spend 150sek (~7%) more for a better fan while getting a much bigger card?
If they were the same size I would probably just have gotten the Asus card, but the Asus card is like 40% longer.. (thinking about it for airflow, environmental concern and weight)

Price/performance is like.. everything when buying stuff, lol. I think I'll get the 256GB.

OH SNAP, I found a site that has the Asus GTX660 for 2200sek (50 less than before) AND all the other stuff I want (so I won't have to spend more money on shipping). It doesn't have the Sapphire HD7870 and the Zotac GTX660, so the choice suddenly got easier :D

I'll probably be buying the Asus GTX660, Samsung 256GB SSD and Define R4 in a few days (gotta wait for the bank to transfer moniez).

You are a bit too concerned sometimes with price/performance...while it is important, when it comes down to it, you are STILL saving money if you get the smaller one, even if in the future you buy another of the smaller to equal the large, OOOH $10 more! And what if you don't use all the space on the larger one?

It's similar to like, Costco or Sam's Club. People get lured in cuz it's like WOW SO MUCH STUFF FOR CHEAP -- but you get like 100 boxes of cereal and save a total of maybe $10 or $15 if you were to get 100 separate ones -- but who needs 100 boxes? You still save money if you just get 2 or 3.

It's the same concept ;s

What site? I personally used Newegg for most of the stuff, and buyspry.com for the card since it was out of stock on newegg :c A few days after I bought it, ofc, it came back on newegg. But newegg charged tax and buyspry didn't, but they charged shipping and with newegg it woulda shipped with my existing things, and I was doing free 2-day lol

but w/e still worked out :D

I was wondering something. A guy once told me that Acer sucks, yet I've been using my Acer Aspire 5551-2468 for 2 years and it's pretty good. I play a lot of SC2, and I can play 4v4 with 8 zergs without lagging a bit. Why all the hate toward Acer? Or is he just an idiot?

+rep me and you'll get good karma, wich means you won't be reincarnated into a rock! Isn't that awesome?

But yes this idea has been discussed more than Pam Anderson's tits in a plastic surgeons office.

As long as I can make use of what I'm buying and have enough money to buy it; Price/Performance is extremely important.

Swedish site called Inet.se

I'm obviously not buying from out of country/ because it's a nightmare if anything breaks.
Especially if it's something from outside of Europe.

Not sure about anything with Acer; Asus is a company that manufactures various computer parts, which is different from Acer, who just build computers like HP.

Don't know, laptops in general suck at gaming.
