Probably just bad luck. AMD and Nvidia are both rather equal in that area. Just to give an example:
GTX590 had a rather serious driver bug that could fry your card. Literally FRY. Just look at this:

True, but important features like sound, storage chips (is that managed by the "H77" chipset?) and LAN are often not quite as good on the budget MBs.

For a sceen you'll want a 23inch monitor, if you have the room for it. With 1080p (1920*1080) resolution and LED back-lighting.
Logitech G400 is a very solid gaming mouse and it's rather cheap too.
Any cheap keyboard that looks good will do, but if you're prepared to spend some money on a mechanical keyboard, then the Qpad MK-50 PRO and MK-85 PRO are good options if you want a hand rest/support. Those 2 are pretty hard in the feel, if you want a softer keyboard then the Steelseries G6v2 and G7 are pretty good, although the G6v2 lacks a hand rest. The G7 does have one, but it looks soo big o.o

If you don't know what parts you need and don't know what the costs of your pc will be by yourself I don't recommend building it yourself. There are plenty company's that have a pc-builder and an option for you to let them build the pc for you. All you have to do is select the parts for your pc. This will cost about 60$ but wil save you alot of headaches and a defective pc. If you have a low budget I would look for an AMD-processor and fitting motherboard. In comparison to a Intel it would save you 100-200$ and you wil most likely not notice any difference in performance. If you want I could post my pc-build, I can't now because I'm on my laptop atm. My pc cost me ~800 euro. And I can tell you it runs like a charm :).

Overall pretty good products I'd say.
But GTX650 is garbage at that price. HD7770 has 25% better performance. So I'd recommend getting the HD7770.
PSUs with 80+GOLD are to prefer over 80+normal. 80+ is ~80% efficiency while 80+GOLD is ~88%, saving you about 10% electricity.
8GB RAM is probably the best choice right now.
That motherboard seems like good value, but overclocking and extra features seem sparse. Just something to keep in mind.
