Rengar and Wriggles Lantern - Useful or Not?

Do you use Wriggles Lantern on your Rengar Jungle build?

This is not for discussion on the viability, brokenness or any other opinion on Rengar himself, only on his builds. I ask you politely to take those opinions elsewhere.

As a casual LoL player I don't usually delve into the sciences of the game or its builds much. But, after attending PAX for the first time this year and seeing the NA Regionals in person, I decided to learn more about the game. I found out that my favorite role to play in a 5v5 is Jungler, and almost always as Rengar (mind you, I do not play ranked at the moment).

After playing Rengar as a jungler for quite some time it's become blatantly obvious that almost every jungler build utilizes Wriggles Lantern for its free ward, unique passive, and well appreciated bonus AD, Armor and Lifesteal. Now, don't get me wrong, I enjoy these bonuses. The ward especially. But the whole reason I'm making this thread is to ask, somebody other than myself, whether or not this item is useful, worth the 1600g, or better kept in the store on a Rengar Jungler.

I would love to hear your opinions or see what other builds any of you would use on Rengar while Jungling.

He can proc it really well, but I think, his clear is alreay fast enough without it. And if you already clear fast enough without it, you don't need it. Finally, Rengar is more a gank jungler than a farm jungler, so he doesn't have use for it that often.

Depends on a lot of things, like the enemy team comp as well as the enemy jungler.

If it's someone I think that will enter my jungle quite a bit(Like Shyvana or Mundo), and might be someone I'll have to dual against, I pick up wriggles for the extra armor. Or if it's a maokai, the cloth plus 5 pots, might help if they invade and I get low(Starting items).

But if I'm snowballing and getting kills, I tend to skip it and go for phage/frozen mallet etc.

If I know I have teammates who will be there more or less if I get into a fight with the enemy jungler, then I might not. I might instead build for a phage/heart of gold. However, Wriggles for me is more of a "safe choice" if I'm playing with randoms, as I can't always count on them to be aware of what's going on. The extra armour and ward(God who buys wards right? Not my teammates. Not even the support) might keep my teammates alive so that I can actually do something.

Sometimes I like Wriggle's for buff control when facing strong invade jungler (Skarner, shyv, mundo, lee, udyr etc.) and when I need stronger dragon control. Its not really needed for clear (since you max your W anyways and doubleproc of W clears the camps almost instantly), but its really gold efficient option as it buffs your ability to duel for such a cheap price.
