I want get good with draven i bought him hardly play him im wondering in team fights how much should you try to catch your axes? Is it better to miss them to stay back etc and not be close to be caught. Also what kinda team comp should i use him with he has pretty short attack range and it kinda puts him in danger in team fights.

it depends on the current situation on whether its safe to grab your axe or miss it, what separates good dravens from bad ones is the good ones know when to grab or not grab the axe.

Biggest part of Draven. Especially in lane.

You need to know when to poke with a Q as well as knowing when to all-in someone.

Janna and her AD buffing shield are absolutely amazing for him as well as supports that can keep the opponent in place such as Taric or Leona. DoTs+Leona passive are just wonderful as well.

I think a thing they should implement is that the enemy can't see where your axe goes, that way they cound'nt be so shure where you want to run.

But mostly it depends on the positioning.

Tah beh, or nat tah beh. BOOM! Nat tah beh.

As with any AD it's generally better to sacrifice some damage output if it means you survive.

I think he pretty much works with any team comp, though ones with CC that can protect him and allow him to hit repeatedly are obviously best.

Catching an axe is never worth bad positioning, try to lead them to good positions.

My guide should hold all the info you'll need.

If you're doing well enough, one axe and auto attacks should be all you need to take down most targets (assuming you have a LW). I admit half the time I don't even bother catching axes anymore if Im fed off my ***.

EDIT: Regardless of his unique mechanic, Draven is ultimately an AD carry at the end of the day, and simply auto-attacking the nearest thing and being safe is always better than going out of the way for axes and dying. People often misunderstand this fact about Draven. "OMG GOTTA GET MAH AXES"
