fyi Im prettay sure top leona is a bad idea, but I do have a soft spot for unothodox builds :3
Of course, she still has that big and obvious weakness of being completely helpless against being counterjungled. There is only one champion in the game who cannot win against
As much as I'd enjoy playing it, Jungle Leona is unviable.
Thanks for the concerns that you've voiced. I'll try to answer them as best as I can.
Skillset-wise, AD Leona plays almost exactly the same as support Leona; it's not like all her skills change after going AD, so it's natural for me to explain her basic skills and how to use them. The biggest difference in playing AD Leona is adapting to top lane, and I actually go into more detail about how to use them specifically in the top lane, if you read it. I also explain the build specifically for AD Leona, so there shouldn't be any problems there. I can see why you might think I haven't written enough on AD Leona's playstyle - a lot of it is spread across my guide, and the summary in the end isn't very detailed. I will try to fix that in the days to come.
However, it's more helpful to a guide-writer when you voice your concerns first rather down-voting immediately, allowing them to make changes.
As for the stats, most of my teammates clearly fed as well, so the opponents in their lanes were just as fed late game as my AD Leona was. Yet, AD Leona did fine against them. I think that's pretty good evidence that she isn't "not viable".
Also, they might have just been bad (They weren't terrible but they weren't good either in my opinion), but haven't you considered the possibility that they fed because they played against an AD Leona?
This vote is not because I hate AD Leona, but because your guide is terribly insufficient in the off-chance that someone would even want to improve their AD Leona play. You spent a lot of time making basic information seem longer and look pretty.
As for AD Leona, your stats actually indicate that she is not viable.
I can play AD Lulu solo top with the players you were up against.

They fed and were terrible.
Btw... She isn't THAT underrated...
And I main
Of course I can't do anything about people who want to vote without any good reason, so yes, they can do that. I would much prefer up-voters to give me constructive criticism too, but it's different. If someone likes the build, they might not find much wrong with it, but if someone doesn't like the build, then something about the build turned them off, and I would appreciate knowing about that, as you have done. So thanks for your comment.
I'll try to address some of your concerns quickly. As long as you have your shield and stun, it's easy to harass, and back off before your shield is gone and win the exchange. You will be using your auto-attacks, especially since
She's also useful in team-fights because one skill combo should be enough to afflict at least half of the enemy team with sunlight, she can soak up some damage with a tankier build, her stun interrupts channeling champions (like AP Yi), and she's still a threat with her auto-attack capabilities.
The damage is really something you should see for yourself. Try out the build, and see how much damage Leona can do after BT and TF. It's not amazing, but it's near other AD/AP bruisers like Riven and Jax, and you make up for it with tankiness. AD Leona needs much more gold than support Leona. Flash is that unreliable escape with the huge cool-down, and Zenith blade is an escape depending on the situation, ie. someone is collapsing on you from behind, just Zenith blade to them.
AD Leona brings her own unique set of benefits to a team, just like any other AD bruiser. She's tanky, but she can't be ignored because of the decent damage. Her stuns, slow, immobilizing gap-closer, and
Ps. I think Leona is a pretty balanced champion in the support position, and Team Fnatic has my back on that one.
But I'm actually going to write some stuff. On the thing about dueling 1v1 -
Your CDs are (at best) 7s/14s/9s/60s.
Unless you are planning to fight most toplaners with mostly auto-attacks, you ain't gonna 1v1 anybody and win. She is nowhere near one of the better 1v1s no matter how you phrase it.
On your pros/cons:
+ // She's stunning
+ // Gap closer with
+ // Incredible defensive stats and survivability for a bruiser
+ // Awesome team fight utility - no CDR means you can only land about one combo per teamfight.
+ // Underrated and underestimated - How's this for an obscure and audacious claim?
- // 100% melee, so easy to counter - melee does not mean easy to counter, though in this case, you are correct that that would be her weakness.
- // Hard to master skill-shots
- // Needs top lane or fed bot lane - not really. Do fine with just GP10s, tbh.
- // No reliable escape - how about none whatsoever?
And to the idiot who posted above me,
There are just so many other solotop laners which are more reliable in that position and
