hey there. I'm still new to lol and Ali is the first support-champ (it's free to get) so I worked into the supporter-role with your guide.

It's a pity that your guide is only rated with 86%... imo it surely has to be above 90%
it's a really viable and nice build for Ali. all you need is a strong carrier.
The build is nicely balanced! Passing the early game with some mana issues and the mid-game with it's lack of tankiness you're a absolute viable supporter for the late mid- and late-game. You will gain more and more defense and tanking is really no big deal, you can focus on assisting etc.

Want to thank you for this guide, hope to find more from you!
(and hope there's gonna be an update on the items soon)

cheers

I really like your way of thinking with this build!

I have seen a lot of Alistar builds with Banshee's Veil as the magic resisance item - but I would build Spirit Visage instead if there's no other way you will reach those 40% CDR. They're very similar items now but with more permanent healing and an extra self boost to your healing instead of a blocked ability now and then and increased heal after taking damage.

Also, if you use the active blizzard on Shard of True Ice well, you could choose Frozen Heart instead of Iceborn Gauntlet in a situation where you have to go more tanky and they have heavy dps - you reduce their attack speed and get 10% more CDR, but you'll loose a little AP, mana and cleave damage on autoattacks, so only do it if they're really putting your team under pressure.

That's a lot of the reason. Rounding it out is that if you look at straight stats, building into Eleisa's Miracle from the Philosopher's Stone and then taking the Ruby Sightstone combine to provide slightly higher stats (15 mana regen vs. 10 mana regen and 300 health vs. 250 health), though looses the CDR, but provides a bunch of much needed wards. Because of that, I'm comfortable in dropping Shurelya's Reverie and using the opened up inventory slot to instead get another gold item: Kage's Lucky Pick which I'll then build into the Shard of True Ice (to keep the gold income but also get the nice CC active it has).

I'd like to point out that Shurelya's Reverie has been nerfed to ****. It used to be an awesome compliment mid-early, now it's less viable of an option, albeit the Active is still rather useful for hunting *****es down with your team especially.

What's your take? Is this why it isnt in your standard builds?

You are support, not ap, this build is op very difficult to build if you dont get a lot of feed.

Thanks for voicing your concerns. First, I have chosen to add a little AP to the build because Ali's heal is not very strong, and the AP helps improve it. However, the AP is mostly a side-effect of other aspects of each item chosen. For example, I use the Archangel's Staff because it, for all practical purposes, provides Ali with an unlimited supply of mana and the AP is just an extra perk. The Icebord Gauntlets magnify Ali's CC abilities with their proc, while also providing armor. They add mana and AP, which while not the main point of the item, do benefit Ali greatly. The Shard of True Ice was chosen for it's 4 GP and CC increasing active. Again, the AP is just another perk to the item as it does further improve Ali's healing output.

As for being difficult to build without feed, between the 9 GP in the items and the extra gold from the masteries you should be able to build is out any feed at all (I usually do just fine without any feed). Perhaps you can explain more on why?

Perhaps you could suggest a better way to build Ali support? I would gladly consider looking into it.

Great guide in all, need to remove HoG from your guide though :(

Yeah, I haven't updated the text portion of the guide for the items yet. With the holiday's here I should have that done in a couple days.

This guide is very good. Worked great at first, but jungler and mid in my team was feaders so we lost the match.
