League of Legends (LoL) Question: Why & when use Iceborn Gauntlet & Berserker's Greaves on Ezreal?

Why & when use Iceborn Gauntlet & Berserker's Greaves on Ezreal?

As an avid Ezreal player (as everyone should know), there are two curious questions I have not been able to solve with my theorycraft.

Why would you put Iceborn Gauntlet, a tank item, on Ezreal over his (currently) best item, Trinity Force, a DPS item?

Is it the 15% CDR? I usually am fine with Ionian Boots of Lucidity and Greater Glyph of Cooldown Reduction.

Speaking of boots, why would you put Berserker's Greaves on Ezreal? The Attack Speed was nerfed, after all.

iceborn gauntlet is a way stronger kiting tool than Triforce, i think thats the main reason why people use it. 35% slow for 3 sec vs 25% chance on 20% slow for 2 sec... especially with ezreal its great because every q applys the slow
But if u dont like it, dont worry. already got changed on pbe (less slow for ranged).

@iceborn: Most people buy it because it's cheaper, it's effective with the Sheen, and the aoe allows for better tank line poking before fights and while roaming. With iceborn you can grab your other items much faster. also cdr is good too

and no there is absolutely no reason to build CDR boots on AD carries. Glyphs should be MR as well if you want an optimal early game.

Zerk's has always been a good item for any AD carry. It's cheap, and you can get a stat that's otherwise much harder to get.

What's your opinion now that Iceborn's ice radius is lowered with ranged champions and the slow reduced?

The armor is good for dueling and for more aggressive plays as well.
The reason why people don't buy CDR boots on him is because CDR is easily achieved through other means. AS is superior because it's cheap and effective. Also, Ezreal's passive isn't really the main reason why he doesn't get attack speed in his build.

And yeah MR flats are for lane safety.

You might not need all the mana from it, but there is no doubt that the CDR helps out Ezreal a lot. It may not save you from a death, but it will take a lot more skills to bring you down. Overall, Trinity Force vs Iceborn Gauntlet is pretty preference-based. I typically go Iceborn Gauntlet if I am losing or have lost lane.

That's good to know that its the 800 savings, but you end up with a lot mana you don't need and armor that won't save you from dying if you're caught without your Arcane Shift. Whatever happened to red buff, oh...?

Ezreal's kit is probably the best kit out of all AD carries. Why wouldn't I want to utilize it more often? Being able to use your skills more often charges Rising Spell Force faster, giving you more Attack Speed. Its a massive steroid that prevents Ezreal from requiring large quantities of Attack Speed in his build, unlike other AD carries ( Graves gets Attack Speed to re-charge his Quickdraw, Tristana gets Phantom Dancer to compliment Infinity Edge, although I am old and grey and possibly dissonant)

Besides, the Berserker's Greaves are only 150 gold cheaper. Rest assured, I use Berserker's Greaves on all other AD carries.

MR/flat glyphs are to stop support harass, I assume?

Basically people bought Trinity because of the utility. Why get that if you can get a perma slow + sheen with cheaper parts to it along with other passives?
