I thank you all for your input and apologize for my prolonged absence from LoL. This guide will be updated as soon as I have properly tried all of the suggestions presented and gained an understanding of how the game works best ATM.

AP Varus is not really supposed to duel anyone anyway (ad varus neither fyi), but it's still pretty fun to play (in normal tho, don't try this in a serious game xD).

I think part of the problem is runes and masteries, you should really aim for more standard runes : mpen quint/mark, armor/health seals, mr glyphs.

Also you absolutely need Void Staff it's NOT an option, replace Gunblade. And imo replace DFG for Zhonya too.

That being said, apart from raping tanks, ap varus isn't THAT great anyway :/

I tried Varus AP for ability 2, and no you can't challange any AD champs 1v1 you die easy. So this is either a scam or a noob that has done this build. Please don't use it. I won my match. But Seriously Varus should carry not beeing a noob -_- this pissing me off people making guides and thinking they know how it effects game play vs other AD . I would'nt try it , i got all runes and mast in the game and this was not a good choose. Sory

I like the concept, and Varus is free right now, so I'm going to give this a try because I was already wondering how it might be. Thanks for the info on item choice though, the Runaan's hadn't even occurred to me. :D Also, you might consider adding a Nashor's Tooth to the build, but I'm far from knowledgable about that, it just seems to fit with the build.
