- What was mentioned earlier: Show who up/downvoted the guide (confirmed ranking, maybe also the forum rep count)

- Allow All-time forced commenting on votes (Srsly, where do you guys have a problem with that? Don't tell me that there's a problem with "post storage space" or sth else??)

- Allow only ppl to vote who do have at least X posts

None of these will ever happen. The admins don't like comment to vote even as it is and believe people should be able to vote anonymously. Having a post/rep requirement discourages people from joining the site.

Forcing comment to vote would fix nothing, it would just encourage even more sheep voting.

@Over

1) Was described poorly by me (thought it was clear since mentioned already), it was about the visualisation how many ppl from what rank up/downvoted.

2) It wouldn't change much maybe, like you said, the REAL troll downvoters would still do it (But you'd at least see those downvotes), but it definitely has potential to keep guys away who saw 2-3 thinks they personally dislike but don't even invest 5secs into reading the guide.
And since it causes no harm, why not?

3)Why should voters who just make an acc to upvote one "helpful" guide be only a good thing?
EXACTLY those are part of the problem who keep bad guides floating at the top...
(Not to mention smurfs by vote fakers)

4) And I really would like to see that the biggest use of the Scout System isn't cronyism...

@Jebus

"Vote decay" sounds like a bigger system again, that actually does not much (it sounds less harmful than Scout System though), but seriously: What keeps the top guides from faking "updates"?

Supervisors???

You really think that...?

Instead of doing a few big changes, try to do more little ones.

@Luther

Well, you can either have way more ppl "join" Moba (Creating a account they use to vote once...)
or raise the quality of guides, both is definitely not possible. One side has to take a beating.
So either quality or personal gain.

And I really despise the big companies who made this choice for the gaming industry.

If we're doing that separation, I think it'd be fair if we got some alternative feature method, be it a monthly review of the best new guides or something like that (as I said at Editor). This way, we still give non high elo players motivation towards writing and a chance to get highlighted either way.

Seems like a good idea, but there's only so much "good guides" released each month. It would also mean a lot of work for all the Editors, Scouts, etc especially if a new champ comes out. Although I doubt any of those guides would be good anyways.
My first self made sig ^_^

It's not that hard to weed out stuff, it just demands a bit organization. Besides, I'm pretty sure we could get the community itself involved in suggesting, and many times just a quick hard glance at the guide's *** can tell it's not worth it.

I just threw the idea, of course we'd have to find ways to defend ourselves from work overflow but it's not undoable.

@Darcurse: Forcing comments w/votes 100% of the time would make people vote less and they would also vote less truthfully. And how is an upvote with just "thanks" any better than a downvote with "bad"? The reason why there are guides like LaCorpse's Ahri guide floating at the top is because it has has accumulated a billion votes. There are likely people who use her graphics shop and went to upvote her guides too. Stuff like vote decay assists in getting those guides off the top spot. Stuff like forcing users to have 50 posts doesn't.

This is true.
Generally if someone does something nice for you, you do something nice back. That is a reason that holds true for a lot of the top guides here on Mobafire. Not that all of them are bad. They are good in format and aesthetics, but as far viability goes not really.
Thanks TinyStar for the amazing sig<3

i think mobafire should show the votes like solomid does, its a lot easier to tell which guide is better/more popular seeing "200 upvotes 10 downvotes" rather than "86%"

You can check the votes on any of the guides that are champion based by using this URL:

www.mobafire.com/league-of-legends/orianna-guide

If you want to see another champion then just change the name in the URL.

So it's how many upvotes/total votes. Interesting.
