Hey guys,

Been playing LoL pretty casually lately, and typically I play in the jungle. For games with my friends, I was wondering if you guys could give me some more unconventional or unorthodox jungle picks that can actually be effective. Not looking for total troll picks here, but something that might work out that you just never see. I'm sure they won't be as good as the high-tier junglers, but just looking to have some fun here. Here are my thoughts so far:

Fizz - actually not really bad in the jungle. Lacks a little sustain, but clears well and his passive makes him survive a bit better. High mobility for ganks, and post 6 his ganks become awesome.

Wukong - See this every once in a while, I just think monkey is a fun champion. His stealth + gapcloser can make for some good ganks, obviously lacks sustain in jungle, but again, post 6 ganks get really good, and useful in teamfights.

Gragas - I just keep reading that this is possible, haven't tried it at all. But who doesn't love a fat guy?

Karthus - Always hear about jungle KArthus, never see one. Not sure how it would go, but if you reach late game, well, then you're still late game karthus.

Evelynn - Saw on a high elo stream a player that mained jungle Eve at like Diamond level. Thought that was pretty funny. Could cause havoc all over the map. Likewise with Twitch who Stonewall recently wrote CAN jungle, so thats another option.

What are your thoughts, someone recommend an unconventional jungler for me to play! THanks!

The ones you've named so far, Karthus is by far the best out there, hes the king of the unconventional junglers, I currently have about 65~70% win ratio (cant remember or bother checking) with 35ish games played doing Karthus jungle alone, so it certainly works and this is at 1900+ elo, or platinum division.

Another great unconventional jungler is Poppy, has awesome dominance mid and late, and doesnt really struggle much early since shes tanky due to passive, hard to counter her, and if you time your E correctly you can pull off some nice ganks too. Jungle clearence decent too!

Others to recommend: Tryndamere, and Sion AP

Thanks very much! Always wanted to try out Poppy as well, so I think I'll give it a shot. If you happen to read this, could you recommend a rune/mastery setup for jungle karthus and poppy, along with a general way of building?

And I noticed in other thread you mentioned Nunu as a top 5 jungler atm. I love his early game counterjungling, but I never know how best to build him for full effectiveness late. Any tips?

@Karthus
Start Items: Amplified Tome, and HP Potion.
Note: Ask for good pull on blue and wolves
Start skill: Q
Runes: AP Quints, M.Pen Marks, AP L.T Glyphs, Armor Seals
Masteries: 21/9/0 or 9/9/12
Note#2: Rush Kage lucky pick

@Poppy
Start Items: Hunter Machete, and HP Potions.
Note: Start blue (if on red side) or red (if on blue side)
Start skill: Q
Runes: Attack speed marks, Armor seals, MR glyphs, AD Quints/Movement Quints/ArP Quints
Masteries: 21/9/0 or 9/21/0
Note#2: Rush wriggles or Sheen depending on how well you're performing

@Nunu
Tip#1: Only pick him if you synergize well with your Team (ie. Varus, trist and you have a sort of heavy CC team thats got decent sustain, a squishy burst team won't suffice)
Tip#2: Carefully analyse the game so you can effectively counter jungle, for e.g if the opponent jungler at top at 12:30; counter his blue/red.
Tip#3: Start to typically follow a support junglers build (Runic bulwark, Abysmal scepter and Randiuns)

@Full Effectiveness Late
Build: Rod of Ages, Abysmal Scepter and Merc Treads (Pretty core for nunu, offers great sustain, damage and decent -ve resistance to enemies).
@Then depending on your team composition
Vs heavy AD: Get Randiuns (to help slow players jumping on your carries / or escaping your ultimate)
Vs Heavy AP: Get Athenes Unholy Grail (great CD reduction and MR alongside AP, helps with sustaining, and dealing damage, as most ap carries are squishy)
Vs Balance: Locket of Iron solari (sustain, help your team as a whole and tanky)

Note: When you hit Nunu late, say around 40minutes, you want to protect your carry as much as possible, giving him your buff, slowing enemies, and using your ultimate when necessary (E.g. if they jump for your carry, do your ultimate, so the opponents more focused on moving out the way, as if they keep going for carry, your ultimate will deal heavy damage Win/win situation - they stop focusing your carry, or they die)
