Hi everyone,

So I'm finally 30, and trying to narrow down my champion pool to just a few champions that I can "main". For the longest time, I've tried to play every role, and I've learned a few things about my strengths an weaknesses as a player. So after reading through these, if you guys can give me some recommendations on champs that might suit me, that'd be awesome.

- I just am not the most mechanically sound player. I try to work on it, but my reflexes/reactions aren't top-notch. I'm not terrible at hitting skill shots, but very mechanics-dependent combos probably aren't my skill shot.

- I always liked to play burst mages, but again, mechanics are a problem. And in the end, I just like being able to autoattack some without it doing like - zero damage.

- Related to AD + AP carries, I find that my positioning is sometimes my downfall. Playing squishy champs, I can deal a ton of damage, but I find that I die too quickly (again, my fault, but it is what it is). I just sort of like to be in the middle of the fight, soaking up damage and dishing it out.

- The one area of the game I do think I'm pretty good at is at like seeing opportunities and making calls. I'm pretty good at being able to keep track of what everyone is doing, where enemy junglers probably are, and that sort of thing. Even if I can't always outplay my opponents, usually I can outthink them - if that makes any sense.

- That has led me to play mostly jungler, and I've been fairly successful at it, but I would like to expand if possible.

- As with most people, I'd really love to find 2-3 under-the-radar champs to really focus on. I know FotM champs are FotM for a reason, but if anyone has some recs of champs that are a little underplayed, that'd be cool.

So that's it, a bit of a mechanically-challenged, not-great-at-positioning player but that has a good feel for the game most times. Let me know if you have a suggestion! Thanks!

Hmmm...sounds like you could use a hybrid like Jax.
As a not so mechanically sound player myself, I find that he can deal lots of damage and tank pretty well at the same time.
Trinity Force, Warmog's Armor, Sunfire Aegis, etc.

How about Trundle? He is pretty underused and isn't too hard to play with, and you won't have to combo with him to do your job. I also like his escaping/chasing potential with his bonus speed, tenacity and that mud pillar. You can top lane with him or jungle with him. I usually build him offtankish with a Frozen Gauntlet and an AD item like Hydra. The rest I build tanky items like warmogs and sunfire (and boots of course). I recommend Mercs on him because the tenacity will stack with the his built-in cc reduction. He has great sustain with his passive and ult, and can really dominate a top lane with his bonus stats from his spells, and he reduces the enemy's stats too. A good trick is to use his ult on the enemy tank, because you get a percentage of your target's defensive stats while it's on them. The ability isn't really used for damage, so you don't need to hit the enemy carry with it.

spirit visage is amazing on trundle too because of his passive, Iceborn Gauntlet is great on him too with his Q, normally wriggles if you jungle with him is good enough AD because of his Q

And I forgot, if you're top laning him, it's nice to get an early philo. You just have so much sustain with it and your passive

And yeah by Frozen Guantlet I meant Iceborn Gauntlet lol I keep forgetting the newer item's names

I still say Stark's sometimes bye mistake...

So to summarise everything you said:
1. You do not like skillshots and dislike combo-dependant champions
2. You like to burst someone as a mage being, but you also like to deal a nice amount of damage with auto attacks.
3. You are bad at positioning and like to be in the middle of the fight
4. You have great map awareness and a good instinct
5. You are good at jungling but you want to try something else aswell
6. You want to have 2-3 champions we recommend, and it doesn't have to be massivly played.

The first one that pops in my mind is:
Fiddlesticks
1. He has only 1 skillshot
2. He can do fine if he messes up his combo and he can burst someone down while still having nice sustained damage.
3. His ultimate makes sure that you are in the middle of the fight, releasing all crows on the enemies.
4. His ultimate requires certain instinct to use, when and where.
5. He can be played both as jungler and as mid (even as support! :O)

He basically has a bit of everything you require.
But since you wanted 2-3 champions to focus on, let us see what else there lies in store of you:

Jax
As mentioned by jo3hood
1. He has 0 skill shots.
2. Can both burst people down as dealing sustained damage.
3. He is a bruiser kind of champion, requiring him to be in the middle of the fight, stunning peeps and stuff.
4. Map awareness is always nice to have, so of course you can use it for Jax :P
5. He can be played jungler, top and even mid! :O

Also Jax might be a great champ for you! :D

Now the last one...

Nunu & Willump
Now this an interesting one:
1. He has 0 skill shots.
2. He does great sustained damage and can burst people down with his ultimate.
3. His ultimate requires you to be in the middle of the fight.
4. When Nunu is invisible (in bush or over a wall), then his ultimate is invisible aswell, allowing some hilarious kills and also requires your map awareness of course ;D
5. Nunu can be played: Jungler, top, support and sometimes even mid! :D

These are my recommendations for you!
I hope I helped ;D

A couple of champs that I have played a lot recently(maining top) that you could try:

Renekton
1. No real skillshots. You might consider his gap closer like a skill shot.
2. Builds tanky to where you can jump into the middle of a battle and use your ult and q to do damage all around you.
3. does auto attack damage and his W stuns on next auto attack.

Shen
1. Again, gap closer is the only thing like a skill shot.
2. Is meant to be in the middle of team fights as he can be sooo tanky.
3. His ult allows you to teleport to allies and gives them boosted D
4. Can jungle, support, or top

Diana
1. 1 skillshot that travels in an arc, but hits everything in that arc.
2. Hit the skillshot, ult the champ you hit, w, e, ult again and win. Played her a lot recently and really like her.
3. She can jungle, mid, or top

I know these champs aren't so much under the radar, but they are either tanky or bursty, or a bit of both.

Meiyjhe's right, play dat Nunu & Willump! if you build him right his iceball becomes a MAJOR annoyance, especially early game.
I myself have never played Trundle or Fiddlesticks but they're always valuable on a team and both can be big disruptors.

my suggestions - these are general champs that you might find enjoyable..

for burst mage type try [Ryze] he has tremedous brust and if your early game is ok he is incredibly tanky late game

[Katarina] - i dont think she has any skill shots and can be devastating in team fights

[Kayle] - no skill shots and so so strong in almost any role... if you have your wits about you and use your ult at the right moment..win
