I'd like to thank everyone who has commented, viewed, and voted on my guide in the several months its been in existence. With your help and critique I made this almost tied PsiGuard, a high Elo bad ***, for the best Nocturne guide on Mobafire.

But with the extensive Mastery and Jungle Changes, not to mention complete overhaul of items and thus build paths for the Eternal Nightmare, along with the hinted additional changes down the road, I've decided that instead of going through the entire guide searching down each old version and replacing it one at a time, I'm simply going to archive this guide and make a new one, better than the last.

But mostly, I don't feel comfortable changing the guide to the new Season, simply because I so far haven't felt comfortable with ANY of the remade Jungle items, and thus far have just skipped all of them for an early Tiamat. I can't in good conscience update a guide to Season 4 when I don't even like the new itemization, so it'll probably be awhile, maybe a couple months, before I post a new guide. In the meantime, this means I can get back to work on my Pantheon guide, which has been in slow development for a while now.

Until then, I'll see you all later. I wish you all the best of luck in your games, and hope you all have fun!

A minor tweak here and there, and Jinx is, unless she gets Olaf'ed, a permanent addition to Nocturne's highest Champion synergies. She's just too damn strong right now not to include her. I debated with myself whether or not she deserved such a high place so early in her life in League, but it's official; she's here to stay.

This is my Nocturne build and i think my build is better than this.

I've looked at your build. While you do a nuclear ****-ton of damage, you'll get shredded in anything save a pure 1v1, except perhaps cleanups. You'll never be able to initiate fights, and you'll be kicked into oblivion by a light breeze.

I can see where your build is focusing towards (Assassination, Split-Pushing, and Dueling) and I can respect its purpose. But I don't believe any build is 'better' than another. Unless someone makes a build tailored to AP, which is ******ed, every build has a specific purpose and time to be used. Your build is excellent for what it's meant to do, perhaps even better than my own two alternate builds. But is it good for Initiating, Off-Tanking, Peeling, and Teamfight/Objective Control? Absolutely not. People who want that can come here; if they want what you're offering, I'll happily refer them to you.

I've removed Black Cleaver from both Damage builds and replaced it with Youmuu's Ghostblade, since it offers more in single-target DPS and provides far superior sticking power. Black Cleaver is better for teamfights considering his passive Umbra Blades, so naturally (since going into a teamfight with the damage builds is pure suicidal madness) it gets the boot.

My guide suffered from the bug with publishing and saving, so for the last little while my guide was blank. I hope anyone who recently viewed my guide could come back and see it for what it really is (e.g. not just a lazy build with no real guide whatsoever).

I've made a few minor revisions of the Abilities section that contained a few errors, but other than that nothing major. Mostly just trying to stay relevant at this point; I'm not entirely sure what else I could add... or remove... or edit, to make the guide better.

I've completed a few minor revisions here and there to clean up the guide and improve it's quality. If anyone reading notices any errors that I missed (spelling, grammar, coding) let me know, so I can fix them right up.

This guide is by far one of the more descriptive and detailed guides i have read in my past year of playing League. the way you break the sections down is just very well done and very well organized. I love the section where you broke down the abilities and give a list of items that synergies the most with said ability. Your constant updating of the guide shows you have a lot of experience and dedication to this guide which is difficult for some people to show.

Your pros and cons for the Champion along with the individual abilities is well done also. The guide is very informative and easy to read and understand. i would like to know if you have any other guides or if you are planning of making anymore because i enjoyed reading this one as i am also trying to master nocturne to not only jungle but also attempt to take him to top lane.

Thank you for the kind words. I appreciate it.

As for future guides, I don't know. Nocturne is my best Champion by far, but I might one day make a guide on Pantheon, my other favorite Champion. Really, right now I don't plan on making another guide until I manage to dethrone PsiGuard as the maker of the number one Nocturne guide.

I'm ambitious ^.^

I've updated the guide with item synergizes with three of his abilities:

For Umbra Blades, it's Black Cleaver, Blade of the Ruined King, and Ravenous Hydra. You could also debate adding Bloodthirster, but since it only adds AD and Lifesteal, its synergy is not as high as the other.

For Duskbringer, it's Frozen Mallet, Randuin's Omen, and Youmuu's Ghostblade. You could also apply this to Unspeakable Horror.

And for Shroud of Darkness, it's Banshee's Veil, Mercurial Scimitar, and Maw of Malmortius.

This guide was hugely useful to me as a first time Nocturne. After reading through it my performance was hugely improved and I was able to go 10/6 and 14/8 within my first three games playing him. Thank you very much for writing it so well.

GOT AN 18/0 FOR THE FIRST TIME IN MY LIFE AND A QUADRA GOD BLESS YOU MISTER OR MISSUS
