Yeah, I might do that if no one answers this thread for a couple of days; it's a legitimate issue since there's currently at least a few users doing it to a whole bunch of different people. If it's not addressed I fear that new guides on mobafire are going to end up trapped in a perpetual hate-cycle of angry members mass-downvoting sine poena.
It is discouraged but there's not a strict rule against it since it is possible someone could have read your guide and downvoted it genuinely. If the message left or amount of downvotes seems extreme you can always report them and we will take a look at it.
If they leave a message like "I'm doing this and won't change your vote until you change yours" then that would be considered blackmailing / bribing and therefore against voting rules.

Thanks to Minho for my sig!
That's a shame, especially since there are some really obvious cases of this happening right now, when downvotes on other guides happen a mere few minutes after someone receives negative feedback (demonstrating that they never put in the effort to read the guide they downvoted).
If this is going to be allowed, it will discourage people from giving criticism to bad guides out of concern for potential mass-downvoting backlash from anyone who gets ticked off by anything that isn't blind praise.

The criticism thing is still an issue, but there's not much to be done about it. It's human nature to be upset at people who criticized your work.
If all someone says is "." then how are moderators supposed to be able to say for certain what they are downvoting for? We have to give people the benefit of the doubt.

If someone explicitly doesn't say "I am revenge downvoting", it just counts as a vote. People can say things like, "That's a standard ADC build", "This build made me cut myself" or "Fiddlesticks is scary" and all downvote and it's still considered a legit downvote.
Just don't worry about the downvotes and be happy about the upvotes :)

The deal with those situations is usualy this.
Player A thinks that Player B is wrong and downvotes.
Player B doesnt have to revenge vote down it is usualy the deal that they just dont agree on the other ppl choices and think they are wrong.
I would treat it that way.
Ofc we have bunch of flaming kids in this game and community but you cant avoid it. You should just fight for a bigger pool of ppl accualy voting so those little things wont matter anymore for your score etc.
Think globaly not localy. 1 downvote here and there due to hate isnt going to ruin a great guide if you ask me. Good guides defend themselves.
Its been here since 2010 and it will stay here.
If you feel harrased just use report option.

As far as I can tell, this isn't covered by the "voter broke site rules by attempting to circumvent system protections" clause. Does that make this acceptable behavior under Mobafire's current guidelines?
