Playing other champs also just helps in general, even if you main just a handful. Having a rough idea of cooldowns, ranges, and the general strengths/weaknesses of other champs really helps when you're going against those champs. I had a lot of early games where I got crushed by a champ, because I just had never seen them before and didn't know what to expect or how to counter.
Playing others is necessary for ranked, too. If you're main champ gets banned, well, sucks for you if you can't play anyone else.
And the joke thing helps. I've had a blast in a few games that my team lost, just because me and my opponent could make jokes to each other. I'll play 45 minutes, lose, and have fun, if everyone remembers its a game. On the other hand, I've been miserable in games we're winning when my allies are /all chatting insults and harassing the enemy team.

Nom Nom Nom
Champions aren't made around each other. You can look at every champ's skill set, and what skill is on what key, they will all be different.
If they changed it now, new players wouldn't care, but the long-time players would.
Just, learn by playing, or don't play those champs. Pretty simple.

You can go in and change the keybinding when you play annie so that he E is set to w and her W is set to e. That might help.
Also, I agree with your comment about playing solo. I have been trying to play some this weekend and I have played most of the games alone. I think I lost like 7 out of 10 games...maybe more. It didn't seem to matter what I played. I tried using Ahri some to see if I wanted to add her to my list of mids. My team managed to pull it together late and we won. However, I tried playing some of the champs I am best at like Renekton and Diana, and we lost horribly. Mostly because I would have a lane or two that just got stomped. After they would get so behind, the jungler would just come camp me :( And seemed like every time I tried to roam and help, I either ended up dying to fed champs or barely escaping after everyone else died. Was just bad luck on teams and team comps this weekend.

This is not me trying to be a jerk, but are you only going to play champions with the "single damage/utility/AoE" skillset?
If so, you're losing out on a lot of strong champions such as
Rumble, who has "his Q and E swapped," and
Riven who, "has her W and E swapped"
Learning roughly who does what makes you a better player overall.
Yes, like other people have said, you can switch your keybinds, but that won't be an end-all solution.
EDIT: I completely forgot about
Twisted Fate in this list too which throws an entire other wrench in your plans for things.

You should tread 1-30 as your expirience time. I know many ppl sticking to 1 champion for like 20lvls and they were saying that they will master that champion and prefer to learn with that 1 champ, that is not the case. This game is all about knowledge about your and most important your enemies champions.
Very good tip :)
