Hey, what´s u prefered skillorder for Alistar support? In the top rated guides I read different versions, one way R>E>Q>W and the other R>Q>W>E. When is which version better? When early teamfight the second order and in long laning phases the first? Help would be nice...

Depends on the game. When I'm having trouble early game I take some points in E. When I'm winning the lane I usually put some points in Q. I make sure I have a decent heal when the laning phase is over though, when you're in a group E really shines. I would never recommend leveling your W first.

EDIT so to answer your question, if I had to choose between either maxing Q first or E first I'd take Q in a long laning phase which is going alright, E when the laning phase isn't going that well and E when you get out of the laning phase early.

not sure I understand your question but, here goes my advice...
R - u just max it whenever possible.
W - I usually take it as a first skill but max it last. it's good for pushing people around and protecting your adc, in case u get early ganked by a jungler
E - second skill to be able to sustain ur adc
Q - third skill

so in my oppinion it's up to whether to max E or Q first. I think it depends on ur laning phase. If you think you will have a hard lane and your adc will have a hard time sustaining, you can max E and spam it as much as possible. If you're doing well on lane, you can max Q for more damage.

remember that alistar is a support, and you are not expected to do much damage, but help people. so that's why it might be useless to max Q or W first

Depends on role, as well. If I'm supporting Alistar, I get 'q' at level one (pop up stun if we can get a first blood in), 'w' at 2 (peeeeeeeeeeeeel), and 'e' at 3. After that, I just prioritize my heal, ultimate, pop up, head butt.

If I'm support, headbutt is ALWAYS last, just because it ups your damage, but doesn't increase the effectiveness of the peel. My heal is first, because you pokes and the occasional ADC dumb move.

Of course, ultimate whenever available, because it's amazing for tower diving, diving in 1v3 to save your ADC from the inevitable gank, et cetera. With no armor, I've managed to survive a gank from the jungler, mid, and bot lane long enough to get to the tower, saving both myself and the carry (who was awesome enough to actually RUN rather than try and engage 2v4)

As stated by Legend, it's really dependent. R>E>Q>W is my PREFERRED skill order, but it just varies depending on how the game is going. Are you dominating and not needing to heal your ADC nearly that often, then get that stun up. If you're getting poked hard, get that heal going.

The skill order will depend of how you will want to play.

If you prioritize Q - Stronger and longer stun (throw up), which is good versus close up enemies.

If you prioritize W - Then you will deal more Magic Damage and disrupt faster, which is good, for example, versus Draven (W his face and he will miss axe).
It scales very well. So it is a good spell if you are AP Alistar hehe :P

If you prioritize E - Then you will heal your adc, making he stay longer in laning phase (in case the other adc/support poke him).

So... it depends...

In my opinion, never max E or W.

Alistar doesn't need to max abilities for the damage. Of course it helps, but he mainly needs that CC.

Max R>Q>W>E.

Q is longer cooldown, around 15. At skill levels of:

R = 1
Q = 5
W = 2
E = 1

You will have Q and W around exactly the same cooldown for the W + Q combo.
That's what Alistar is dependant on. Landing good cc combos.

Depends on how you're playing him or who you're supporting. And who you're laned against. Against an aggressive bot (that can back it up), I max heal to just keep up with the constant pokes. If they have a lot of CC, I max Q to lengthen the stun when I have to peel for my carry.

I do tend to play Alistar more defensively, though, so primarily I look to keep my carry in lane, and peel peel peel.
