Hey guys, I'm a new player (started a little more than a week ago) and this is my first post on mobafire. So, I wanted to ask you guys who you recommend as a champion to use. Of course, here are some pointers.

1. I'm pretty good with Veigar and Fiddlesticks, but I'm best (so far) as Singed. As singed I use the top rated build on this site, if that gives any hints as to my preffered playstyle.
2. I prefer ranged characters
3. Dedicated tanks are a no-go, I tried Tryndamere and even after some expert guidance and good builds range harassment kept me way down. Straight up melee focused fighters like Tryn and Udyr are out. However, assassin characters like Warwick usually don't let me down
4. It doesn't matter how much the difficulty rating is, if the character suits my style i'm willing to fail a few games to start doing well

Suggestions? and thanks for reading!

Veigar and Fiddlesticks both have some sick combos, so if you're into that, then I recommend Anivia and Annie, as both are top-tier mages who are extremely fun to play.

With Singed, I can see that you like that harassment, survivability, and the general chaos that he causes. However, since you said that you dislike tanks and bulky melee in general, that brings your choices down a bit. My best recommendations for slightly bulky casters are Swain and Morgana.

Yeah, I like to be able to help in a team fight but also kill in a 1v1. It's not so much melee i hate, but the whole "I need to run up to you while getting shot at, and if I fail I have to run away while getting shot at" thing I don't like.

If that's the case, you'll probably like Anivia more than Annie. She's pretty hard to use, but is extremely powerful in solo mid and in team fights. She's got a stun, two slows, and a wall, so you can kite very effectively and not really take that much damage while running away.

However, she does cost 6300 IP and is one of the most difficult mages to learn (compared to keyboard-mashing champions like Ryze and Vlad). If you do become good with her, you'll have a lot of fun, though.

From what you've said, another good choice is lux.

1. She has a snare - Good in teamfights
2. She has a slow/AoE - Good in teamfights
3. She has a projectile that shields all allies it hits from some damage - Good in teamfights
4. She has a Giant Laser - good in teamfights as well as to catch people running/blue pilling.

As far as 1v1ing, she can shine with practice. Yes, she takes some getting used to, but she can do some great damage, especially if you grab something like an early sheen.

Lux + Sheen early game can seriously harass tanks down at least 1/2 their health with just 2 skills and 2 auto attacks. :P
