And so Blizzard sent unto them this Brawl of Yogg, As a lesson for their sins of Pride and Greed, for he is the Prophet of Madness and RNG. On that day, the tavern descended into an era of chaos and darkness, until the weekend passed and everyone forgot all about it. Amen. Book of SMOrc, Verse 20, Chapter 4." - Feam T

"I sexually Identify as an Attack Helicopter. Ever since I was a boy I dreamed of soaring over the oilfields dropping hot sticky loads on disgusting foreigners. People say to me that a person being a helicopter is Impossible and I’m ****ing ******ed but I don’t care, I’m beautiful. I’m having a plastic surgeon install rotary blades, 30 mm cannons and AMG-114 Hellfire missiles on my body. From now on I want you guys to call me “Apache†and respect my right to kill from above and kill needlessly. If you can’t accept me you’re a heliphobe and need to check your vehicle privilege. Didn't watch Sola in the end. Went for Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun.
It was an average, kind of typical romcom with a ****py ending that lets us expect a sequel yet it hasn't been announced at all since 2012. Another unfinished anime that had some potential because the art/animation + characters were really good. The ending was total **** so it pissed me off.
If the ending was a bit more concrete, i'd have loved the romcom. Yet they screwed up.
Now I'll be downloading Chuunibyou demo Koi ga ****ai! Another romcom. I'm chaining romcoms because they are easy to figure out, my brain hasn't recovered yet from how awesome and mindblowing One Outs was.

I can basically agree with that assessment. Which is a shame, because Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun started out very well. It just did not manage to continue to be fun past the first few episodes.

I enjoyed Chuunibyou. It's not fantastic, but it's a solid romcom and is consistently enjoyable through the first two thirds at least. Unfortunately, like many romcoms, it gets a touch more serious towards the end, losing its lighthearted charm, but by the point I got that far into it I wasn't just going to stop watching regardless. I don't recall its ending being atrocious, but I do recall it being the standard sort of not-really-fulfilling ending.
I've also finally gotten started on this season's anime, after not watching anything besides Hunter x Hunter for two solid months.

My posts may be long. If this bothers you, don't read them.

I just finished Chuunibyou and was about to post my opinion until I noticed you pretty much said it all. Exactly like you said, the ending was so-so and it got a bit too much dramatic for a romcom in the end. But at least they announced a second season which kind of makes it up for the ending, unlike Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun.
I will be going for Hanasaku Iroha this time. Then I'll start watching either some action/fantasy anime or drama/romance anime. Romcoms shouldn't be chained as they easily get heavy on the heart.

Overall Impression: Definitely worth to watch. It's good anime overall, really good anime.
The strenghts: The theme of mind games, jukes, outplays and the ownage in general was near flawless. Some were easy to guess/think of on your own, but some mind games were pure genius. This anime reminded me a lot of Death Note, which is a good thing :P And the art was okay, I like how the main protagonist's art gives us the impression that he's a top tier evil genius (the gaze of his eyes scare the living **** out of me).
I wasn't a real fan of baseball until I watched One Outs. Turned out to be a great sport.
The weaknesses: What bothered me in this anime is that not a single female character (except a middle aged black fat woman seen on the first episode only) has made an appearance through the anime. I need dem girls.
Another thing, is that the main protagonist was never in trouble through the entire anime. The guy is a god who just facerolls people all day through 25 episodes no sweat.
Nevertheless, I highly recommend you watching this if you liked Death note and if you're a fan of mind games and psychology.
I think I'll be watching Sola, they say it's good, need to check it.
