I've heard about LoL for ages. I played DOTA back in the day, always wanted to get into LoL but just never did.

I started up about a month ago - and I love the game! Its a blast! I'm addicted to trying all the champions and I've already found 5 or 6 that I love!

Here is my vent: The game is full of people who are absolutely HORRIBLE to play with. Its making me want to quit.

Look, I'm no amazing player yet. I have games where I absolutely dominate and go 15 kills and just a handful of deaths. But I also have games where I run into someone who is obviously much much better than me. And I have a bad game (shock!). I'll go like 6 and 10 or something. I don't mind losing in games, its just part of the learning curve. More often than not when I get to the score board at the end I see that the guy I was getting pounded by is a level 30 (I'm only 13) so I don't feel bad.

But!! Every time I have even a "somewhat" off game.. there is always at least 1 of not 2 people on my team just going BERSERK! Yelling to report me for this, report me for that. Report me for helping the other team. Pretty much everytime this person is playing worse than anyone else on the team. However, it gets really old! The kicker? I log in tonight and have an automated message saying I've been reported too many times for going afk.. I DONT GO AFK@!!# I've had to leave one game so far. One.

Is this how this game works? Am I really just going to end up getting banned because everytime I have an off game some one on my team reports me for something?

Vent off.

At those low levels, you actually run into a lot of people like that. Smurfs usually.

Once you get into the upper levels, those stop coming really. The mute function is your best friend early on, especially since you'll probably never see them again.

Thank you to jhoijhoi for the sig, and all the dividers in the guide.

Leaverbuster is really tough on newer accounts. If you go afk for several minutes or leave a game and you're still a lower level, you can get immediately tempbanned. If you play for hundreds of games and then have one leave or something, nothing bad will happen. It takes a while for the system to trust you, so to speak. Probably so people can't just do whatever they want with throwaway accounts while players who have a couple leaves in hundreds of games don't get their accounts banned.

Just play more, don't go afk and don't leave games. It'll get more forgiving the longer you go without a leave or afk.
Thanks to Nyoike for the sig!

it's unfortunate that these kind of smurfs exists because they keep new people from learning and enjoying the game, just keep playing and you will start to see less of them, and what PsiGuard said as well leavebuster really hits new players hard with afk and leave warnings, and it goes by the numbers of games you play, play a few bot games when people threaten to report, because people rarely ever rage in bot games and the ones that do are a special kind of special and it should thin out the chances of you getting banned/warned at least in theory it should, "people of mobafire correct me if I'm wrong" also add me in game and I will try to play a few bot games with you and walk you over the basics I have a lot going on over the next few days so it may be awhile, but my in game name is Rusted Gold, I am working on a blog right now about toxic lol players but more then anything toxic Smurfs "people who have a higher level account but continue making new accounts so they can pwn new players and rub their faces in it"

To be perfectly fair, some people play on smurfs to help their friends learn the game without dragging them into higher level play. There will also be a number of people trying to level a new account. Not everyone just spams new accounts to pubstomp, though admittedly there are people who do that.

Exactly I never said that all smurfs are bad just the kind that pub stomp and rub people's faces in it that are bad or the ones that expect new players to know every thing about the game and yell at them when they do something wrong. I have a few smurfs as well that I use for different things, like learning new roles or champs in normal's before I do on my main account. I use one for a youtube project i'm working on against trolling/toxic smurfs.

In normal games at 30 I haven't seen a flame fest in days.
In ARAM however ....... it seems the special kind of people prefer to play ARAM.

I rarely see people rage in ARAM, but even I have been told to uninstall the game after ARAM gave me a champ I suck with :P and the game does get a lot better at level 30

Holysnowva you can also add my smurf account Ninja Trigger, as well I use that one for teaching low level players in normal's so they don't get matched with higher levels, when I use that account though I only use champs I don't know how to use very well so I am learning just as much as the other players lol

Make sure to mute and report the ragers, that helps a bunch.

As for going AFK, players can't affect that. If you're relatively new, the system is a little more harsh (since it looks at a percentage of games you left).

You almost never will get banned for teamates getting pissed at you, as long as you aren't legit trolling. The Tribunal (which is the punishment system in League) is there to prevent that.

And if you are so tired of this situation, take the XP boost at the market, so you can grow up faster and finally going out from insane raging and flamming ;)

Thanks a lot for all the replies you guys. I'm glad to hear it gets better! I think in my.. 40-50 matches to far I had to leave one of them because the wife was on me. I also lost my internet connection in the wee hours last weekend that booted me from a game. I guess that will do it.

As for the complainers, its just a very odd kind of raging I see in this game so far (least at the early levels). What drove me to make this / vent on here was the fact that it was so prevalent (literally every time I had a less than good game) and then I started to feel like those people were directly effecting my account (when I got that message).

I'll will carry on!

Again, thank you!

The levels 10-20 are the worst tbh, after that it gets better. (XP boosts ftw)
