Agree on the red pot, haven't used it often enough to tell how strong it is but I feel it has a lot of potential.
As for Barrier, meh. It might be picked too often, but it's definitely good imo. Then again I'm used to having it now and haven't rolled
Ignite or
Cleanse in a while (I also play top a lot more than AD atm), so it's hard to compare.

I've yet to try opening with a red pot on my ADCs as I'm fairly new , but while I see it's usefulness against people who do golems the upcoming patch should fix that issue. Also red pot doesn't build into anything and has a time limit where as dorans blade is something you keep using pretty much all the way till 5-6 item or a long sword that builds into either one of the core items on all ADCs BT/Botrk ,so those are my thoughts on red pot.
As for summoners cleanse is pretty much useless if the enemy team has little/weak CC or can't use it on you during laning phase it would put you at a huge disadvantage against someone who took barrier + barrier is a effective spell no matter what the enemy team has. Ignite while certainly a great spell in lane it's not as useful for an ADC outside of it.
Recently have been experimenting with Heal on my ADCs and doing fairly well so far I've saved about 9-11 of my teammates (in the middle of the teamfight myself not included )with it + if you take that mastery in defensive tree it gives you an extra 90HP which is pretty sweat as well as the ability to heal your team for a total of 1725 HP again a very nice thing to have as it can swing an entire teamfight in your favor.
Then again I've pretty new so I could be totally wrong :D.
P.s. I'm kinda tired so I might not be making any sense in my post so please tell me what you didn't understand and I will try to explain it more clearly :/

I used to sometimes start red pot on purple side before the nerfs but haven't really tried it post nerfs so idk about that. Golems spawn time will be 1:55 as of next patch so I don't see any point in experimenting with it. I don't think Barrier is overrated, the shield is really good and helps with trades, baiting and stuff. Doran's is definately the best starting option(assuming you are using lifesteal quints).
I just play a different style of ADC I guess. I run Red pot/dblade start with ignite, and go full AD runes to just constantly bully. (on lower range bursty ADs obv) I feel like if you play it correctly against almost all AD's you can zone them away from the creep wave and they won't be able to utilize their lifesteal at all.

I don't know how much I like the idea of red pot. It's a pretty hefty gold investment in consumables, so if you don't win your lane in the first few levels, you're pretty much 475 gold behind. 3 pots may have more sustain than doran's start, but doran's is usually enough sustain with lifesteal quints, plus it stays relevant for most of the game, unlike the 3 consumed pots.

Thanks to Fatelblade for the sig!
I bring
Cleanse on my ADCs nearly every game.
Cleanse negates both
Exhaust and
Ignite. Also,
Barrier blocks most of
Ignite's damage, as well as being probably more useful later on in the game. Although
Ignite is good on
Graves, I would suggest
Barrier or
Cleanse or you will have a REALLY bad time in laning phase against good players.
My thoughts on red pot -- Cheesy and a waste of gold. People have gotten used to how to play against it. If you pop it, you don't have a baiting tool and you lost 350g if you did nothing in three minutes. On the other hand, if you don't pop it, you don't get the AD for harassing, which makes your trades weaker and your lifesteal quints weaker. In the end, Dorans would have let you do more damage and heal more (indirectly). Red pot works as cheese, nothing more.

Barrier doesn't block a lot of ignite really. It blocks 2 ticks if you time it right, which isn't even half of it. At level 6, barriering to survive ignite will still leave you taking at least 102 damage provided nothing else pops ur shield and leaves you taking more ignite ticks, which is pretty hefty. I do agree with the rest of what you posted, except that there is a surprising amount of people who play against red pot start completely wrong.

I see 95% of ADCs start dorans blade and I can see why they do it, but what I really don't understand is why I'm like the only guy who ever starts red pot. I can understand starting doran's on blue side to do golems, that makes sense to me. But on purple side? I feel the power of red pot is super helpful, especially in resisting level 2 aggression. Many times I find myself able to bully out/fb enemy laners that do golems because they chunk themselves doing it. Doran's regen breaks even with the 3 hp pots you get from red pot start after 90 auto attacks.
As for summoners I don't really like the most common one I see either in barrier. I feel like barrier is super overrated, and that ADCs that are long range are better off with cleanse 90% of the time, and that bursty ones like Varus or Graves are better with ignite way more as well. I feel like people pick barrier since it can be used offensively and defensively, but I feel like it just isn't that useful.
Thoughts?
