Yeah, i was wondering why the stream always had 6k+ viewers yet the twitch chat was a ghost town.
A normal twitch chat usually consists of heavy flaming, lots of censorship and haters.
In all seriousness though the reason the stream had so many viewers is because on the bottom of the page on mobafire usually had the stream playing muted in the background.

I did not like how the developers, as said by sivHD, insulted siv when he raised this point.
As far as anybody knows none of the staff insulted sivHD, unless you would be kind enough to show me where? He did post a private conversation between him and yannis, which went:
[12:20:27 AM] MOBAFIRE Yannis Ziakas: there are no bots, we have nothing to hide
[12:20:40 AM] Siv HD: then arent you at least curious why your chat is so ****ed up?
[12:21:08 AM] MOBAFIRE Yannis Ziakas: yea there are primetimes, NA and EU, this is neither
[12:21:28 AM] Siv HD: primetime means you get more viewers, it doesnt mean 11500 ppl behave like 80 ppl
So all yannis did was say that there are no bots, which is the truth. Then he says "After this they just started to personally insult me." I'm sorry but that would really surprise me and there is no evidence.
Also, @ Napoleon D the stream was just a little down on the homepage, not at the bottom. It was also immediately visible on champion database pages. These are the only pages it was on. I hope this clears things up.

Thanks to GrandMasterD for my sig!

While we decide how best to move forward, we have taken our Twitch channels offline in hopes that everyone can get back to having fun playing their favorite games. We encourage all feedback and look forward to getting streamers back on the air soon.
Don't lose hope. :)

Agreed with this. However, people do not realize that mobafire is not simply about streaming, but the main reason people visit mobafire is to view the guides. The main problem is that autoplay is on, so that means that anyone on your main page is a "viewer". Like what he said, turn autoplay off, so that people can choose whether to view the stream or not.
That being said, I did not like how the developers, as said by sivHD, insulted siv when he raised this point. This is NOT the first time that it has happened (*cough* Athene guide *cough*) and I am extremely disappointed with the actions of the mobafire developers. You have only served to further worsen the impression that other people have on this page, and instead of INSULTING someone who pointed out the limitations of streaming MobafireTV on the main page, you should have apologized and view the next action you should take. Although I acknowledge that you are doing so, why insult someone? There is really no need to.
Our site arguably has the largest community, but the actions of the developers have hindered it and is an indirect or direct cause to the current reputation it has now.
Sorry if I was being offensive, but this is my real POV and I believe the majority of the Moba community too. I hope that you can do something about it and handle such situations better and with more formality nexttime.

Well said. I have to wonder if the admins/developers are even truly aware what kind of reputation Mobafire already has in the LOL community. I can't imagine they would act this way if they realized how they're already so widely loathed.
if you're here for guide then you're gonna head to guide section right away, and this section have no TV stream. Then why they are still opening Mobafire homepage ? I used to watch stream in Mobafire homepage also because where I come from, we have no idea about twitch. So I know Twitch Tv thanks to mobafire.

But why did you feel it both necessary and acceptable to set the stream to auto-play and auto-mute? Since you cleared this with Twitch ahead of time, you had to have at least some inkling that it was underhanded and would artificially inflate your viewer count. So why do it?
You need to log in before commenting.
The problem here isn't that you embed the stream on your site, the problem is you have it set to auto-play and auto-mute. You are forcing anyone who visits your main page to contribute to your twitch channel views, and there is nothing you can say that changes that simple fact.
To solve this problem all you have to do is turn off the auto-play. Let the people who visit mobafire make the conscious choice to view the stream, instead of forcing it on them, often without their knowledge.
Considering what a horrible reputation Mobafire already has with the league community, I cannot imagine how you thought manipulating viewer counts through your embedded stream was a good idea.
