I'm still new, so I know i have a lot of learning to do. But, sometimes I feel like i am completely useless for my team. How can I can I determine if I was an asset to the team, or a liability? I guess this doesn't include K/D ratios, or towers destroyed. What are your indicators on a good game verses a personal worst?

Buy lots of wards and place them in places that the enemy is likely to walk by and there you go you are no longer useless. Now more seriously-try to specify what is it that you think you are not doing enough in your games. Also telling us what champions/roles you play would help us give you advise.

If you have any questions, feel free to PM me.

Victory isn't always the way to tell if you did good. A loss could be caused by someone on your team doing poorly. I suppose if you get a friend request or someone gives you honor then you did a good job or pulled off something worth honoring. The number of deaths a good way to tell how well you did as dying makes the enemy stronger. Denying them kills by fleeing and defending your allies is always important. Items that provide Aura buffs are useful in this regard but may not be the best purchase at a given time.

Most importantly, you should know your role then think about if you adequately performed that role. Junglers should always pressure lanes and drive enemies back (preferably with a kill, but it doesn't help if you die as well). Supports should be either the tanky or buff variety and help the carry get kills and farm in peace with wards and cc. The other champs generally fill damage dealing roles but have varying levels of utility. When playing solo top, mid, or adc you want to avoid dying and maximize your damage output. Sooner or later these roles will start racking up kills but its important to not get kill hungry. Recklessness leads to death, and death is bad.

If nothing else, you should always ward. Darkness kills, just ask Nocturne. *insert laugh track*

So far, I'm competent with: Riven, Sona, Ahri

I'm still learning: Akali, Katarina, Irelia, Sejuani, Vi, Ashe, and Vayne
