I think we all understood what they were trying to say. It seems like you purposely left out the word "should" from the start of the quote, it makes all the difference in what that person was actually saying.[/quote]

[/quote] To say it does not make a difference is false, by adding "it should" at the start of that sentence you change it from a certainty to a probability, which are two different things. A player who has genuinely worked themselves up to silver 1 or won enough placement matches to start there would suggest that they have an acceptable (or good, maybe even great in some cases) understanding of the game. There are too many factors involved such as amount of matches, game experience, and total playtime for you to dismiss that players in silver 1 do not have a good understanding of the game. The same factors impose on my argument too, but at least I accept that fact, you just seem to believe that people in silver 1 can not have a "good understanding" of the game without giving valid reasoning for it.[/quote]
