i think its just too much work. its a great idea but it would take forever.

Just to update the current items we have would take an extensive amount of time but if and once they're all done, updating one item at a time may not be so time consuming as we may think.

i dont think that this is even possible because items are that situational; it doesnt even fully depend on both teams comp, but on players skill on every champion degree of feeding cs and so on... there are to many factors that would change a tier list for one game
just my opinion^^

Champion tier lists are equally situational - Veigar, for instance, shines against an all-caster team. In other instances, he's just not as good a pick as he usually is. He can be likened to Madred's Bloodrazor, which gives a variety of good stats, but the unique is only good against high-health low-magic resist champions, such as AP cho'gath (or any cho'gath without BV/FoN/QSS). Void staff is probably more useful than Last Whisper, because there's much better armor pen choices than there are magic pen choices. Void staff also gives double the AP than Last Whisper gives AD. Universally good items might be: Rod of Ages, giving an incredible amount of mana, health, and AP; Banshee's Veil, being a great protector against spell damage, CC, and giving mana and health as well; Trinity Force, which gives basically every stat you could ever want; and a variety of others. I think an item tier list would be great, but we'd have to have a large amount of people contributing and testing and the like.
I think it would take time in the way that tests would have to be made to confirm everything that is said about every item.
If it was made out of only theory it wouldn't take as long, but still quite some time, but the question is how viable an item tier list would be, made only from the theory of each item. I think this at least, would be way too inaccurate without testing to back up the theory.
While it might be a nice achievement for MOBAFire to have, I think the work put into it, might exceed what results would come from it, even if made to perfection. - Also even if made to perfection by whoever makes it(Even if it is made by several people), there will always be people who will disagree.

This is probably truer than I'd like it to be. If we can get the primary stages of the tier list worked out (the basis of how we'd rank items and otherwise) in relatively short time without too much arguing then I say it's worth a shot.

I think it would be interesting for the community to tackle this project. Maybe have a series of threads voting on items and ranking them? Maybe separate criteria for each item, like "usefulness", "efficiency", "universalism", or "scaling"? Perhaps separate categories for "tank", "AD DPS", and "AP DPS"?
What would we think about taking this task on?
