Deep breath.
I play Zyra pretty effectively, but my play style is much different than most with Zyra. That is why my guide is tweaked and just because something works for me, I understand it won't work for everyone. Why would I make another cookie-cutter Zyra guide, there are dozens already. That's how I looked at it when going into making the guide. I also haven't fully completed it yet, but since I had the core, I wanted to publish it.


Zyra has no real decent way of escape other than her snare. You really should build her somewhat more bulky from the start in rune choice as well, because Zyra's base stats are also terrible and it is free money for the opponent if you are being ganked.


You shouldn't be running under your opponent's tower within the first 5 minutes, you hit three faster than you think. I have ran my AP Tank runeset on her before, but I have always preferred the extra early dmg and sustain. I haven't finished the guide, and can definitely add a tankier runeset option ^_^

Personally, I don't ever have much issue escaping from ganks, especially if you keep seeds in at least one brush on the side of river at level 2 :D But I understand what you're saying.

I appreciate the constructive criticism, really. This was my very first guide, made on any site, other than helping friends along here and there. And I wanted to begin with a champ I enjoy, and a build that I use that's a little different than mainstream.

If we invade early, I do take grasping roots, otherwise in lane I got Q->W->E.

I also get the chalice because of my aggressive play style. I don't always wait for a seed to be up to cast a spell. Most people expect you to do that, and so I try to bully my lane whenever my CD is up, even if I can't sprout a turret.

There are of course specific different scenarios for every game, not a single one is like another, but I haven't wrote many scenario cases out yet as I've been busy this week. I may update it this weekend.

Consider Greater Glyph of Magic Resist as opposed to AP glyphs.

Go more in-depth about everything. Flash is "Overpowered" and "Versatile". Explain why. Also, you can give tips on how to use all of your skills etc.

And getting RoA first? No thanks. It offers you next to no burst which you need as Zyra.

I kinda figure people should know about flash and ignite if they care to read the actual details of the guide.
What do you mean exactly about tips on using all of her skills? I have some info, more in-depth in the teamfight section, but I could add more elsewhere. Just a little confused on what exactly you mean.
Like the whole "Plant a seed in-lane to deter your opponent and make them paranoid that you'll sprout a turret at any moment" ? I could do that kind of thing.

This isn't a bursty build. This is a HP-intensive build. As I've stated many times in my above replies, there are a million cookie-cutter builds for Zyra. Why bother remaking one of those? :P

You know what happens when you run no defensive runes on Zyra? You get zoned. And you get owned if the enemy jungler has a gap closer.


Hardly ever in my experience, having map awareness for jungle isn't hard and knowing when to go in or not is something that comes with time. Zoning Zyra? With your plants it's kind of hard to box her out of any laning.

Wrong runes, Rod of Ages and the guide is not in-depth at all. Contains very little info.
