Playoffs for Worlds are coming up in a few days!

I personally think the winner is going to be between SKT T1, C9, OMG, and Ozone!

SKT T1 has shown phenomenal performance in the OGN through amazing individual mechanics. Their star player Faker has the widest champion pool of almost all professional mid laners and seems to know every single matchup. I'm sure everyone remembers the insane Zed play he made against KTB Ryu in the final match of the summer split finals. Piglet (ADC) has also shown massive improvement in the summer split, putting him on the same level of Vayne as SG Ozone's Imp. However, some may argue that SKT T1 relies on their individual mechanics to carry themselves through and haven't had good strats and preparation. We'll have to see how they perform at Worlds! Definitely one of the favorites in the tournament.

C9 has proved themselves to be the kings of the NA LCS with almost a near-perfect record through the summer split. They are phenomenal in rotations and quick decision-making, unlike many of the other NA teams who still struggle with hesitation. Concerns may be raised over their unique style of gameplay though, with Sneaky picking Ashe, which Imp from SG Ozone has claimed to have fallen out of flavor, and Meteos having a unique farm-oriented jungle playstyle as opposed to the quick tempo-leading gank-heavy jungler playstyle that other world-class junglers have. HotshotGG himself has even claimed that C9 will do well in worlds. We'll have to see how they play out against the other teams!

OMG has been completely dominant in the Chinese scene, taking many teams by surprise. They were even called the "Dark Forces" because of their black team pictures and their sudden rise in the Chinese scene. OMG has an extremely aggressive gank-heavy + objective-control fast push playstyle that has caused veteran teams WE and iG troubles. Their top laner Gogoing stated that their win loss record with Korean teams were around 50:50 as well. However, many have criticized their performance against RC to be extremely sloppy, as they have had extremely poor management over objectives. Of course, there still is a theory that they threw intentionally, as they would be matched against easier teams if they got out of the group stages as the second seed. Last hope of China ;3 (I dislike RC despite Uzi being arguably the best AD in the world)

There's not really much to say about Samsung Galaxy Ozone (previously known as MVP Ozone). They were the underdogs coming into the spring finals of OGN and everyone thought that CJ Blaze would win against them in the finals. However, their mindgames and counter-strats paired together with amazing mechanics completely threw Blaze off of their pace, winning the series 3/0. Even in the summer split, they've shown dominating performance in the group stages and quarterfinals, though they lost to SKT T1. SG Ozone has arguably the most adapted and mature mind games, which was shown through the first game they had against SKT T1 in the best-of-5. However, I feel one of their weaknesses is their inconsistency and tendency to tilt. This was again shown through their series against SKT T1, where a turnaround game 2 completely threw their momentum off, losing them 3 games in a row, ending the series 1/3.

I voted for SKT T1 cuz out of all the 4 I like SKT the most :3

What do you all think?

Who do you think will take it home?

Post reasons for why you think your selected team will win!

Voted SKT T1 because I think the Korean teams are overall stronger than teams in other regions and they are arguably the best team in there right now. Shame KTB didn't make it, I think they would've done well too.

As for EU, I really only expect Fnatic to do well. Gambit have been inconsistent recently and didn't convince me despite qualifying, but they tend to do well internationally so we'll see if they bounce back. Lemondogs lack the experience to really become a big threat imo. Fnatic were really, really solid at Gamescom with their only weakness being their bot lane (I remember puszu being easily outfarmed by yellowpete in both games vs EG and consider him the weakest player on the team in terms of mechanics).

As for NA, well, C9 is realistically the only team to expect anything from. Not sure who voted TSM, but eeeh.. yeah, I don't think so, buddy :P

Don't know anything about any of the other teams.

I really didn't pay much attention, but there is always big expectations. Maybe Kt or Najin Sword, but i'm just throwing these two names by what i read.
Fnatic still good but they always need some time to acomodate. If they get through the group stages, maybe i'll put some money on them. LD is an incognito for me.
As for Gambit I just see that they decide to have fun and maybe throw on purpose if something really unexpected plays against them (unpredicted ganks, etc, usualy on Alex).
C9 is da shyt but i feel they will struggle, especially being newcomers to the pro scene. tsm will only win by pure hype. However, they've shown they only really get something if they have to work hard for it. Vulcun can easily place better than tsm, they are more consistent and even Bloodwater is better than Regi (who isn't?). Mancloud is the powerhouse, though. Koreans will camp him so hard. X.X
Mineski was a bit of a surprise but I think they can do well. I'm not fond of the chinese teams.

edit: voted gaminggear.eu to see the votes. :P

As requested to GMD himself.

If I'm honest, I think SKT are overwhelmingly strong and have the best chance of winning. But the teams that I feel will give them a good run for their money are:

Samsung Galaxy Ozone
Cloud 9
OMG

I'm personally backing Ozone (I was also backing CJ Entus Frost, but ho hum...) and I'm definitely excited to see how the newly arrived C9 will do after their star performance in LCS.

Other notable teams imo are Fnatic and Vulcan. Still haven't seen Mineski in action.

Good to see TSM and Gambit still in there though. Familiar faces from previous World Championships are always nice.

Haven't seen SKT play, so voted for C9.
Can't really see any other team challenging koreans.
