Hey Summoners,

I was thinking of trying a build on Diana which revolves only around boosting and procing her passive, Moonsilver Blade.

A little bit of background info on her passive: every THIRD (this is important) basic attack cleaves nearby enemies for 20 / 25 / 30 / 35 / 40 / 50 / 60 / 70 / 80 / 90 / 105 / 120 / 135 / 155 / 175 / 200 / 225 / 250 (+ 60% AP) additional magic damage.

First off, you might be thinking her passive isn't that strong, but it actually does better overall damage than her Q, Crescent Strike, until you get about 600 AP, at which point the Q starts to do more damage due to better scaling.

Runes and Masteries will stay the same for the normal Diana, except maybe AS Marks would be good.

But I think the items you would get on her would be a more interesting change, so I will explain what I build on her an why:

Nashor's Tooth: The AS will help proc her passive more frequently, since it only activates on every third AA, which might be difficult on fleeing opponents, and the extra AP adds additional damage, and the passive deals extra damage on hit. Very good item. Oh, and cooldowns.

Guinsoo's Rageblade: Now most people will scream that this is a terrible pickup, and I know that the AD is sort of wasted (although you will be AA-ing a lot so extra AD wont go misused), but the AS is good and the passive stacks are actually very powerful on this type of Diana build. Plus the other passive means you can usually win duels that come very close to both people dying.

Wit's End: This is sort of a situational pickup, but the AS is what we want, plus the defensive MR is never bad, and passive means you hit for more over time due to stealing MR, which also means your Guinsoo's Rageblade stacked damaged is multiplied.

Zhonya's Hourglass: Since you will be in AA range most of the time, melee champs will be hitting you a lot, so armour is very good, and the AP helps deal extra damage, and we all know how the fun the active is.

Abyssal Mask: Usually a late game pickup, unless their AP carries are getting fed. The AP is good and so is the MR, and the passive means you hit for more, and will always effect everyone since you are in melee range all the time, and it stacks well wit your Wit's End and Guinsoo's Rageblade

Boots: Any sort of situational boots, usually Sorcerer's Shoes for the pen.

Void Staff: You can replace Wit's End with this, or Abyssal Mask if you are very fed for extra pen.

So that is my build! Tell me what you guy think; if the passive build is viable, if my build is good, or bad, or any changes you would make, or if you want more info about runes or masteries, and make sure you try the build out if you are sceptical! Any comments are welcome!

????

I would 100% rush this item (or at least, the cloak) against any AP-heavy comp, could even before I pick up Zhonya's if the gold amount is just right.

Anyway, as for the rest of your concept: you should realize that Diana is much better played as a burst mage than a DPS caster. Frontloading as much damage as possible is 100% crucial in winning teamfights or catching out mispositioned enemies, especially when you are a champion who has very good odds of 100-0ing somebody on the opposing team. Why take 10 seconds to kill someone over time when you can blow them up instantly?

Thanks for the reply, however I feel you are missing the point of this build...

Not once in my entire post did a claim this is the optimal/best build for Diana. I was providing a different, interesting but still semi-viable build for Diana that people could try and have fun with. I did say her passive did more damage than her Q, but obviously it is easier to blow someone up instantly wit her Q than hit someone 3 times for her passive to proc even though it deals more DPS.

Still, your feedback is appreciated.

Nashor's is good if you need to be the split pusher for your team.
Perhaps try attack speed Diana as a top laner? :3
Ice born/Wits end would be an interesting core at least.
