Flash and
Ghost on people you'd typically gank. Is the route set up in such a way that, at level 3 or 4, you can just go, "oh. That guy is totally over-extended, let's go tear him a new one"? If so, just evaluate the laning of your allies; if one enemy is extremely over-extended, go grab a gank. If your allies are pushing down their tower, jungle like there's no tomorrow.

Ha, I just finished a game where their team tried to gank me at blue buff. I got out of there and my team was like "Hey, you're screwed now" and I was like "Hell no" and busted out the good old Type 2 jungle. Needless to say I ended up 4/1/16.
:D
Also, I've finished writing a guide section on it. *cough*

As far as what to look for, I mostly watch mini map at around 3 minute mark, you can normally see at that point whether or not they are over extending. If they do not have a jungler you are almost guaranteed a gank in the 2v1 lane. Usually I wait until about 4:30 to gank though, because then your soloer will just hit 5 when they are still at 3 and you are at 4, perfect time.

Of course, it's always worth it to jungle to level 3 or 4 and successfully gank. My question is, since this involves starting at different routes, how does one decide if he's going to jungle to 6 or jungle to 4 and gank ahead of time? Is there anything on the enemy team that, if you see, you immediately think to yourself "Ok, I won't be able to gank successfully before level 6 so I might as well jungle"
Or vice versa - "Ok, I know that these guys will be easy gank targets even without my ultimate, so I'll jungle until 4".
What are your thoughts? Also, this holds true for any champion that can jungle until 6.
