Well, I stumbled upon you guys in a normal 5v5 premade and all of you (except xaioli) were trolling, feeding and just being overall ******ed. Not quite the best way to make people want to be part of this community.
If that was a 5v5 premade, then you were on the enemy team, yes? And in that case, they were feeding your team, yes? Why then, are you mad that they were feeding your team? I cheer when I find an enemy that feeds like crazy. If they're all on the same team and they're okay with feeding, I don't see your problem with them. If you were on their team and they were like "IM GOING AP TRYNDAMERE" then i'd understand your distress, but enjoy the free game if you happen upon a joke team.

That isn't the point.
The point he's trying to make is, if they see people from this community be trolls in-game and be annoying to other players, why would they want to participate in this community?
Jet has been banned for trolling and blatant racism.

He's saying we're making ourselves look like goofs and not taking the game seriously, and therefore representing the community poorly. As a newcomer, why would you want to listen to advice from this site, when the veterans (maybe they were vets idk) are feeding and trolling? I understand his point, though I will admit I tend to be silly in normal premades... this game is about fun afterall.

When we first created this site we had ideas. Then people actually came and used it and we realized while we had a good idea, all our ideas where not right. So the site adapted to how people use it. We had intended on having a large forum but what we found was people liked to talk on the guides, alot.
The guides start a topic. So people have something they know and understand to talk about. I believe its this reason that conversation gravitates to guides instead of the forum. The forum, you need to come up with something to talk about, with a guide its already provided... the guide and champion.
What I am getting at is that we let the community decide how to communicate, and in the end we have been very surprised at how they chose to do it.
We are going to add the guides to the forum as a "section" and display each build as a forum thread. Once you click one of these to open, you will leave the "forum" and go to the guide. This should really open some eyes to the size of this community. You are all right that very few people use the forum (like 2% or something) but there is a MASSIVE amount of conversation going on on the guides. We are just doing a poor job getting that out to everyone. Its a newer concept, most sites have a forum for discussion. Our community chose to go down a road that is pretty unfamiliar so we are learning how to best present that data to everyone as we go.
We are pretty stoked about it. We let "usage" decide and its taken us down a fresh, uncharted path (for us). We don't want to try to change this, we prefer to figure out ways of working with it.

PS: i thought i should add this doesn't solve the problem of growing the community, just wanted to point out there is a lot of conversation happening else where and we need to showcase that better.

My entire point was to say that it didn't seem like they were annoying anyone. I'd entirely understand if it were a 4-man premade or less, with other players on their team getting the short end of the stick for trying to play a legitimate game.

This makes a bit more sense to me, but I still think if you're taking everything seriously 100% of the time it'll get tiring. Ranked games are the only thing I think should be 100% serious; custom games are great for ARAMs and bots, but you won't be able to get into good PvP matchmaking very well. As long as you're not pissing anyone off on your team, the enemy will still have a good game and you can do all the AD anivia you want. We've all seen the screenshots on the forums about tank teemo going 16-1; doing BRAVERY in a custom game isn't nearly as fun as in normal with a 5 man premade, especially if you win.

You guys are spot on.

I'm really enjoying this Pantheon who's been jumping at our Nexus turret for the past 5 minutes. Such fast-paced action and intense juking, my fingers are getting sore.

This isn't what this is about. They weren't making some goofy builds. They were only feeding and trolling play-wise. I think 3 or 4 of them attempted bravery at first, utterly failed, and started feeding like idiots.
I guess this is a matter of opinion, but do you really enjoy playing a game where the enemy dives your turret aimlessly? Do you really get a feeling that you're a good player and that you used your skills to pull off a kill? I certainly don't. I hate when a guy on the other team disconnects or starts feeding. I don't know about you, but I don't feel thrilled at all winning a 5v4, or winning against an Akali that went 0/11/1. I play this game to overcome challenges, not to waste time killing the Pantheon I've killed 12 times in the last 10 minutes.
Do you really enjoy playing a game of table football where one or two guys on the other team don't feel like playing anymore? It's a ****ing buzzkill. Same thing here. And it's really a stupid thing to do if your objective is to attract more people to your community.

This makes me agree with you. Even though it's not to say that I won't ever start going BRAVERY when the enemy does it :P

Tbh we have quite a strong community!
I think what we need to do is advertise more (maybe some youtube links, blah de blah)
and create a skins section (if anyone here knows how to create some custom skins)
