I got tired of dodging most of my ranged AD games so I decided to add Sivir to my roster. I don't get a good feel from any of the builds on the site, so I thought I'd ask around instead.

Doran's Blade -> Bloodthirster -> Berserker's Greaves -> Phantom Dancer -> Last Whisper -> Guardian Angel -> Infinity Edge

I think you're meant to rush Bloodthirster, but I haven't seen any pro gameplay so I'm going by what I see from others, and I actually see Infinity Edge being rushed to success. Is one definitely better than the other? When would you do one or the other?

Additionally:

When is it/is it ever a good idea to build Blade of the Ruined King?

Phantom Dancer or Statikk Shiv?

Black Cleaver ever? Highly doubtful, but for whatever reason it is a recommended item (in defensive section too WTF)

Phantom Dancer > Statikk Shiv. Ricochet and Boomerang Blade already have unreal wave clear, so you won't even need shiv for the wave clear.

BT rush on sivir is quite good, because she scales well with AD, and gets free AS from Ricochet and On The Hunt.

I'm not sure when it's a good idea to use BoRK, because the bloodthirster is usually always better for sivir. The only thing i can think of, is if your team has really good peel (you're never in any danger of being assassinated), and you're going against a really tanky Dr. Mundo, and Vi, and your role in a team fight is to just be the designated tank killer.

So basically, rush BT & PD & LW on sivir, and your core build is complete ;>

I disagree with utopus. Statikk Shiv increases her bursty AoE damage and increase her wave clear a little bit. Both are good but I often find myself building Statikk Shiv.

I've been going Doran's Blade > Bloodthirster/ Berserker's Greaves > Last Whisper > Statikk Shiv because it increases the damage done by your abilities and from early to mid game Sivir is more of an AD caster. Last Whisper also gives AD while Statikk Shiv nor Phantom Dancer only give attack speed and movement speed (crit chance and the passive) making it much more scaling.

I'd never go for Black Cleaver. You don't usually really need the penetration and it isn't worth item if you already have Last Whisper (which you do have).

Blade of the Ruined King is better on the ADCs that are like super autoattack based ( Varus, for example]]) and with Sivir's rather short range and her abilities you won't benefit from it as much as you would on someone like Varus etc.

Since Sivir scales better with AD than AS you would almost always run Bloodthirster rather than Blade of the Ruined King. Like with most my adc's I will almost exclusively ryn Doran's Blade> B. F. Sword> Boots> Bloodthirster> Berserker's Greaves< Zeal> Last Whisper and then either Phantom Dancer or Statikk Shiv depending on what is going on the most. If we're going more for objectives I will go for PD but if we're more team fight oriented I will go for a shiv.

You've got the basic build down, and it's almost always better to rush BT because of the sustain it provides and the boost it gets from farming.

BoTRK is best utilized if they have some really high-health champ(s) giving you trouble. It's practically required when fighting a fed Dr. Mundo, for instance. You'll usually end up replacing or selling BT, or if you can afford it, replace IE.

Statikk Shiv < Phantom Dancer, PD has better slot efficiency overall, and works better late-game compared to SS. You'll grab Zeal and upgrade it later, anyways, so you should have little chance of grabbing SS.

Black Cleaver is something that you probably only get to replace LW, when you're far ahead and they aren't building any armor. Basically never.

I usually go:

Doran's Blade (x 2 sometimes) > Vampiric Scepter/ B. F. Sword > Berserker's Greaves > Bloodthirster > Phantom Dancer/ Statikk Shiv > Infinity Edge > Last Whisper > defensive item

I also occasionally buy Trinity Force if I'm super fed and really bored 8D
